Abigail + Ben's Rustic Chic Fall Wedding

Fall weddings hold a special place in our hearts, and this rustic chic wedding from last October was full of the prettiest details. Abigail and Ben drove up from Louisiana to get married at The Barn, and they had the most perfect country fall wedding. We obviously love ALL of our couples so, soooo much, but it means the world to us when our couples are willing to travel from far away (and bring a whole bunch of fun folks with them!) to get married at The Barn. <3

John Blair from Blair Photography did such a beautiful job on these photos. He captured every single detail and special moment, and we're totally swooning over these!

Abigail and Ben were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 14, 2017. Their colors - white, yellow, chocolate and tan - were great for a rustic fall wedding. "I wanted a country chic fall wedding so the colors fell into place," Abigail said.

Of all the pretty details from this wedding, Abigail's dress (from Bridals by Lori) and veil were two of my favorites. I lovelovelove this dress! I'm obsessed with the off-the-shoulder neckline, the sleeves, the lace, the belt, the train, and I seriously LOVE her veil. One of the prettiest bridal looks ever, for sure. Also, we're forever into a plaid button-up over a fancy wedding dress... cute! Abigail, you were such a beautiful bride! (I try not to go overboard with dress pictures, but I can't help it with this one!)

How adorable is Abigail and Ben's sweet pup?! Future couples, please bring your pets! Cutest detail ever. ;)

Abigail's bridesmaids wore fun, flowy dresses with denim jackets and boots. The guys wore jeans, boots and tan shirts - a great look for a country, casual wedding!

Few things are as happy and cheery as bright yellow flowers! These yellow and white bouquets would work for any season, and they're so pretty for a rustic, country wedding. "All of them were gorgeous with beautiful sunflowers, white roses, greenery, and wheat wrapped with burlap with pearl pens," Abigail said.

Abigail and Ben couldn't have picked a more gorgeous fall day to get married, and their ceremony details made a beautiful fall day even more lovely. All this yellow just makes me happy! Their altar included an ivory drape, burlap, two yellow and white floral tiebacks, a whiskey barrel topped with florals, and their custom made unity cross. Their aisle was lined with logs topped with beautiful florals, and scripture from 1 Corinthians 13 painted on wood pieces. Truly the perfect country wedding!

Everyone was so helpful and caring. During the planning any question I had got answering quickly and also got plenty of advice. The wedding day was also amazing because everyone was taking care of everything and we didn’t have to worry about anything that night except loving each other.

"The biggest thing I will remember is saying I Do to my best friend but I will never forget getting choked up while saying my vows," Abigail said. "A spider also got caught in between the layers of my dress and I won't forget that either." Ha! Sometimes the most unexpected moments are also the most unforgettable. ;)

One of Abigail's favorite details of the day was their unity cross. "We made it ourselves and it meant more to both of us," she said.

(Cutest flower girl outfits of all time!)

We very rarely see a bride who wears her veil over her face these days, but I'm totally loving it on Abigail. She was such a beautiful, classic bride! We're all about breaking tradition, but this was refreshing to see, and so, SO beautiful.

Abigail and Ben chose not to have a first look, so all of their portraits were taken following the ceremony. They look incredibly happy and in love in these photos, and I'm just completely swooning over them! I mean, has an old, rusty tractor ever looked prettier, even with the hilarious face Ben is making?!

Abigail and Ben's reception was the DREAM country chic reception. Their tables had white tablecloths, burlap, vintage lace, wood discs, and various jars, bottles and wood vases full of the prettiest yellow and white florals. Some of Abigail's favorite details from the reception: "Our memorial table with all of our loved ones, the cake topper was baby pictures of us, and the cowbell that said "Ring for a kiss,’" she said.

I loved every detail of the entire wedding and reception, but right off hand I think about how pretty the lights and lace streamers were in The Barn and how beautiful our reception table was with all the floral arrangements and decor around it.

Abigail's cake was unique and full of cute, country charm. The baby picture topper was an adorable touch! Ben had a chocolate cake, which was surrounded by deer antlers - manly, rustic and delicious!

Glowstick grand exits are so fun! After their wedding, Abigail and Ben went sightseeing through Hot Springs on their way back home for a mini-honeymoon.

Abigail and Ben, thank you so much for coming all the way to The Barn to begin your lives together as husband and wife! It was our pleasure to plan your beautiful wedding with you. We wish y'all the best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Bridals at The Barn

To start off the weekend, let's take a look back at some of the loveliest bridal portraits taken at The Barn!

We love it when our brides have their bridal sessions at The Barn! It's the perfect way to make sure you get plenty of gorgeous photos of yourself (and maybe even your soon-to-be husband, if you're okay with breaking tradition) at your venue, all dressed up before your big day. Wedding days are crazy. They go by really fast, and brides may not always end up with as many portraits as they'd like, because they're busy visiting with guests, soaking in being married, and doing all the things that you do on your wedding day! Scheduling a bridal session at The Barn is the best way to make sure that you get lots of pretty photos without having to worry about it on your big day. Plus, it's fun to mix things up with a different hairstyle or different accessories for your bridal photos than you plan to wear at your wedding... Your bridal photos and wedding day photos look a little bit different in style, which is totally awesome! It's also a great way to get comfortable in your dress, which is something that's a must before your wedding day rolls around.

Anyway, our brides (and other brides) have had so many gorgeous bridals taken at The Barn! I've shared some before in this post, but here are some more... we just can't get enough of these pretties!

Happy Mother's Day!

This week is full of good holidays! Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day are two of the most fun holidays there are, if you ask me. It's time to start celebrating our mamas, mother figures and moms-to-be! They taught us everything when we were kids, put up with us when we were awful teenagers, and somehow loved us through it all. They're endlessly supportive and unconditionally loving, even when we sure as heck don't deserve it. They always have our backs and listen to our drama without complaining, and they're our truest friends. Mothers, thank you for all you do! We never would have made it without you. Happy Mother's Day!

And because this is a wedding blog, I want to show you some sweet moments between our Barn Brides and their beautiful moms and grandmothers.

Bridal Pictures at The Barn

Hey y'all! Remember way back in December when I showed you some of the precious senior photos and engagement photos taken at The Barn? Today, I want to show you some of the gorgeous bridal photos that Barn Brides have had taken around The Barn. It is truly the prettiest place to have photos taken, and there's just something special about bridals taken at all the little photo-worthy places around here: like the LOVE sign, our famous blue swing, in front of The Barn's doors, and on every piece of gorgeous land it sits on.

Here are just a handful of the stunning bridals taken at The Barn!

Shingleur Photography . Brittany + Tyler were married at The Barn just last week! Brittany's bridals were taken just after a snow day, and how magical are they?! I'm in love. You can see more of these here .

Emily + Casey: Engagements and Bridals

Hey y'all! This week I'll be sharing my first Barn Wedding post, and I wanted to start off with a bang. I'm going to share Emily and Casey's AH-MAAAA-ZING wedding with you, but first, I wanted to show you a few of their gorgeous engagement pictures and Emily's bridals. They were taken by the always incredible Melissa McCrotty, so you know they're good.

If you've been following The Barn for a while, you may remember seeing Emily and Casey on our Facebook page way back when we did our Love is Pink and Hot Pink Kisses Styled Shoots early last year. This couple is precious! It's obvious just by looking at these pictures that they are SO in love. These pictures are going to melt your heart!

How perfect are those shoes?!

Emily and Casey... y'all are models.

Puppies are definitely the cutest engagement photo detail. ;)

See what I mean? These two are obviously head-over-heels for each other.

And here are a few of Emily's gorgeous bridal pictures:

This girl is quite a looker, huh?

I can't wait for you to see Emily and Casey's wedding! You're going to love, love, loveeeee it.

And you know that BIG surprise I've been yapping about for a few days? Well, that's coming tomorrow, so you'll definitely want to keep an eye on the blog and our Facebook page! See y'all back here bright and early tomorrow.
