Avy + Tisha's Winter Elopement

Avy and Tisha's elopement was unlike anything we've ever styled before, for many reasons. First, we rarely schedule winter weddings - since most of our couples get married outdoors, it isn't often realistic to have a wedding with lots of guests in chilly weather. Avy and Tisha hoped to elope on a snowy day, but unfortunately, we didn't have much snow in our area this year... they ended up tying the knot at the end of January, in a creek bed that runs through The Barn's property. It was cold and windy, but also so romantic and full of love that we didn't even mind! It was unique and gorgeous, and our team loved styling something completely different. We're still in love with these photos by Benjamin Martin Photography, and we're thrilled to finally share them on the blog! (Spoiler alert: there was a smoke machine involved, so you don't wanna miss this.)

Avy and Tisha were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on January 30, 2018. Their color scheme was full of rich reds, dark greens, and touches of black and gold. Their details were wintery, elegant and moody.

A wedding as unique as this one obviously needs a unique bridal gown, and we're still swooning over Avy's! This dress was simple and gorgeous, with a few standout details (those shoulders! that neckline!) that made it totally amazing! She also wore a beautiful flower crown and a pair of black and deep red shoes that fit their wedding's theme perfectly. Tisha wore a fitted classic black tux and bow tie... these ladies couldn't have been more gorgeous!

Avy's bouquet was full of deep red roses, dark red berries, baby's breath and the prettiest greenery, and it was tied with long, deep red ribbons - the perfect winter bouquet!

Lesleigh designed a gorgeous altar that managed to feel cozy even in the middle of a frigid creek bed. Avy and Tisha tied the knot in front of a downed tree, which was covered in the prettiest (literally the prettiest) greenery garland with burgundy fabric gorgeously draped across. There were a few black candles, black tapers on gold candlesticks, deep red dahlias, roses and berries. They stood in fallen leaves in the middle of a bare forest, and somehow it couldn't have been any more breathtaking. This ceremony was truly unforgettable!

And now for those smoke machine pics! These are some of the most romantic portraits we've ever seen. They are moody and romantic and seriously breathtaking!

The final gorgeous detail from Avy and Tisha's elopement was a berry-topped, chocolate-drizzled cake from Kneading Hands Bakery. It was both delicious and beautiful, with layers of chocolate cake and strawberry filling. My favorite thing about this elopement was that every single detail flowed together perfectly and fit the wintery, moody vibes, including this cake! It was flawless, y'all.

Avy and Tisha, we're never going to forget your beautiful, romantic elopement! We're so glad we were able to plan it with you, and we wish y'all the best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Brandy + Jon's Shakespearean-Rustic Elopement

I'm sure you read the title of this blog post, and you're thinking, "This girl's lost her mind... Shakespearean-Rustic?! Nope." But hear me out, y'all! This is probably the first time we've had a couple request a Shakespearean wedding, and it honestly couldn't have turned out more beautiful! Think A Midsummer Night’s Dream meets The Barn! Jacque Cocanougher took these photos, and we can't wait for y'all to see them... just wait until you see this altar!

Brandy and Jon were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on May 18, 2018. Their color scheme was a romantic combination of light purple and grey. "We wanted a Shakespearean romantic wedding and The Barn delivered that," Brandy said. "We both wanted something very romantic and elegant."

Brandy's beautiful dress was from Formal Affairs, and we loved it! It was traditional and classic, but had a few details that kept it totally modern. The perfect dress for this gorgeous lady! She said she LOVED her bouquets and that they were some of her favorite details of the day! "They picked wonderful purple flowers that I never would have thought of," she said. "I loved them so much."

Portraits of the bride and groom are ALWAYS my favorite photos from basically any wedding, so it's no surprise that these pretty pictures are my favorites from this day. Brandy and Jon have five sweet kiddos, and their family photo out in front of The Barn is so, sooo cute!

Our wedding was perfect... exactly how I was hoping it would be. The flowers, the colors, everything was so wonderful... The Barn is so beautiful already and then how beautiful they made it look for our day was so wonderful.

Brandy's favorite detail from her day was her unique altar! Lesleigh designed and created an absolutely stunning altar that was Shakespearean meets rustic. We’re feeling all the Midsummer Night’s Dream vibes! She knotted together strips of fabric in various shades of light purple, hung them all from our outdoor altar, and topped it all off with the prettiest purple florals. There were vintage wooden crates (and more pretty flowers!) at the base of the altar, as well as mason jars full of florals lining the aisle.

Some of Brandy's favorite memories from her wedding day occurred during her and Jon's sweet ceremony. He said she would never forget his face when he first saw her, or when he saw his wedding band! (You'll see the sweet look on his face below... he was one happy groom!) She said Jon's most memorable moments were seeing the altar and watching her walk down the aisle.

Brandy and Jon exchanged traditional vows during their ceremony, but they made it all their own by also reading vows they wrote themselves. Brandy's mom walked her down the aisle, and I loved seeing the pride on her mama's face in these photos!

The Barn is amazing... Very pleased and would tell any couples wanting a great venue to use them!

If you're unfamiliar with our elopements (or our brand new Sip-Sip Celebrate Elopement Collection!), they not only include a pretty little ceremony, but they come with the prettiest little cake and cake table details, too. Brandy and Jon had a super classic, simple white cake with purple flowers. The purple floral arrangement and purple fabric on top of an old barrel were the perfect additions.

They toasted with champagne and then headed off on their honeymoon! "We drove all night after the wedding to Gulf Shores, Alabama," Brandy said. "We were there on vacation and got engaged, so we went back for our honeymoon. We had fun at a waterpark and we rode a scary rollercoaster. It was a lot of fun... we got matching tattoos also of our wedding date in Roman numerals."

Brandy and Jon, it was such a pleasure to plan your gorgeous, unique elopement with you! We wish y'all the very best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Our Elopement Collection includes all the necessities - an amazing altar, gorgeous florals, a beautiful cake, and several other details. Yes, please!!! Ali + Chris's Romantic Ranch-Style Vow Renewal

Y'all already know all about our fabulous weddings and elopements, but did you know we host tons of other types of events throughout the year too?! We host charity events, holiday parties, baby showers, and we recently even had a romantic anniversary dinner for one of our past couples. When this sweet couple, who have been married for TEN years, asked us about a vow renewal, we basically screamed YES! Ali and Chris and their two kids are the most precious family, and it was an honor to celebrate their beautiful marriage with them. Cheers to 10 years, you two!

We absolutely love these romantic photos by Karyn Hall Photography

Ali and Chris have been married for ten years, and they celebrated their beautiful marriage and renewed their vows at The Barn on June 8, 2018. Their colors were light pink and pastel blue, and their details were rustic and fit right in with the details of the Twin Oaks Ranch! "We love the ranch life, so we knew we wanted something that would include this but also be very romantic," Ali said.

Ali's bridal gown, which was from Low's Bridal, was absolutely stunning! The trumpet silhouette was made for this woman, y'all. Ali, you are such a gorgeous bride! She said one thing she would always remember about this day was something that happened while she was getting ready. She realized while getting her hair and makeup done that she had forgotten her boots at home, so Lesleigh (The Barn's owner and creative director) offered up a pair of her own... "But I just decided to go barefoot," Ali said. We always love a barefoot bride!

20180608-IMG_1462.jpg

Umm, have we mentioned how much we LOVE a cowboy?! Chris was such a handsome groom!

Ali's bouquets and florals included a beautiful blend of their color palette, and they were the perfect florals for a rustic, summery wedding! Ali knew she wanted loads of hydrangeas, light pink roses and baby's breath. "My bouquet was full of it all," she said. "It was very full, so beautiful, full of everything I had asked for." Ali's daughter was her maid of honor, and Ali said her bouquet - a combination of light pink roses and baby's breath - was "very simple, but perfect for her."

Ali and Chris had the sweetest first look, and then they traded letters that they had written to each other. These are some of my favorite photos from their big day! These two are SO precious and in love, and I'm sure we'd all be ugly crying if we knew the sweetness those letters contained. ;)

Everything was AMAZING! I gave Lesleigh full freedom with my vision and she could not have put it all together any better... Everything went very smooth, it all flowed great. My kids loved it and we all enjoyed the day.

That dress though!!! This bride and her cowboy... it seriously doesn't get prettier than these two!

20180608-IMG_1740.jpg

My favorite photos of Ali and Chris's vow renewal were these sweet ones with their kids! This family is so adorable, and we always love it when our couples include their kids in every aspect of their big day. Their little cowboy is melting my heart!

Ali and Chris’s intimate, romantic, rustic ceremony was held inside The Barn. They said their vows right in front of The Barn's famous front doors, with ranch-style details that included hay bales, steer heads, beautiful florals, and rose petals scattered on a cowhide rug. Their aisle was lined with wood slabs topped with mason jars full of pastel pink and blue flowers. All of this paired with The Barn's gorgeous drapes, twinkling lights and chandeliers was beyond magical! Ali said her favorite thing about their vow renewal was "the cowboy aspect of it all." Who knew cowboy things could be so darn pretty?!

20180608-IMG_1612.jpg

Ali and Chris's son walked Ali down the aisle, and their kids stood beside them as they exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends. Literally the most perfect, most special day ever.

Ali's two favorite details were her flowers and this amazing cake! The cake itself was so pretty and yummy, and the details surrounding it - a rustic crate, spurs (!!!), pink roses and blue hydrangeas - were the icing on the cake. ;)

Just because I can't resist posting a photo of a bride holding babies, especially twins! :)

When I asked Ali how her experience with The Barn went, she said: "Outstanding!! Lesleigh asked me early on what my vision was, and I honestly was all over the place. I didn't have a vision. I knew what I liked and didn't but wasn't sure how it all was going to come together. Lesleigh and the team did an amazing job! I couldn't have asked for anything better!"

We LOVED this vow renewal so much. Married folks and couples from past weddings at The Barn, pleeeease contact us about vow renewals! Let's make this a trend! We're obsessed.

Ali and Chris, your day was SO special, and we're truly thankful that we were able to plan it with you. It was beautiful, full of love, and so perfect in every way. Let's do it again in another 10 years! Best wishes! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Barn Elopements Three Ways

Elopements at The Barn have gotten sorta HUGE. In fact, I am emailed about our elopement collections more than anything else! Barn Elopements are romantic, inexpensive (they start at $1,850... say what?!), and super easy. As with all of our other collections, the only thing our elopement brides and grooms have to do: show up and have a great time! Our elopements are perhaps even less stressful than our other wedding collections (which are already the least stressful weddings EVER), because our team does literally all the planning, coordinating, decorating, etc. If you haven't read about our elopements before, this is a quick rundown of how they work: you tell us the colors and overall theme you like, and our incredibly creative team just runs with it. Our elopements are always some of our prettiest weddings, because our team gets to go all out with the details, and it's always such a wonderful surprise for our couples!

I've written about our elopement collections many times... if you need more info, check out these posts: elopement collection details and 10 reasons to elope at The Barn. You can always email us, too! Go to the contact page or send us an email at barnattwinoaksranch {at} yahoo {dot} com.

Here are three of our favorite, most talked about elopements. They all vary in style, colors, themes, etc. And they are ALL amazing! You can also see three different ways we've styled other styles of weddings: boho weddings, rustic weddings, whimsical weddings, and glam weddings. And check back next week to see one of our GORGEOUS spring 2018 elopements!

Intimate, Simple Fall Elopement

blog1.jpg

Ali and Lee's intimate fall elopement was perhaps the most simple one we've ever done, but it was just as beautiful as every other one we've done! These two have such a sweet love story, and they wanted a wedding that was as laidback as they are. The love they have for each other was definitely the most beautiful detail of their wedding day. They had a beautiful, rustic altar, the prettiest pink florals, the sweetest cake of all time, and a beautiful fall setting. My absolute favorite details were Ali's dress and accessories. Sometimes simple weddings are the sweetest and most beautiful of all!

Colorful Rustic-Cowboy-Gypsy-Chic Elopement

If you've been reading The Barn Blog for very long, you've undoubtedly seen this elopement a time or two... I can't stop talking about it! Morgan and Wager's elopement was super detailed, and it was one that we will never forget. Morgan loves all things bright, rustic, cowboy and gypsy inspired, so our team took all of those things and made THIS gorgeous masterpiece elopement. We're never, EVER gonna be over that altar (rusty tin, pallets, steer heads, hanging florals and lights, a cowhide, etc.) orrrr that macaron-topped cake. This elopement was right up our alley! It was a little bit rustic, a little bit cowboy, a little bit gypsy, and a LOT fabulous.

Colorful, Whimsical Balloon Elopement

Sujey and Jeffrey were married over two years ago, and I still can't get over their sweet, creative, adorable Up-inspired elopement. It's been on this blog a lot, and I'm sure I'll continue to bring it up, because I'm obsessed. (Sorry, not sorry!) When this precious couple told us they wanted an Up theme and a bright, bold color palette, our team went to town blowing up balloons and making the most epic altar ever. Other highlights from this elopement: colorful florals, adorable tiny naked cakes, and a balloon arch behind their cake table.
