Black & Red Gothic Victorian Wedding

“But we loved with a love that was more than love—
    I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
    Coveted her and me.”
- Edgar Allan Poe, “Annabel Lee”

Every once in a while, a couple asks us to do something crazy and outside of our comfort zone, and in all honesty, we LOVE it. We’ve done several weddings that fall into the “one of a kind” category, and this one should definitely be filed as one of The Barn’s craziest weddings ever. And we mean that in very much a GOOD way. How awesome is our team for being able to pull off everything from more traditional weddings to Gothic-Victorian weddings like this one. There’s nothing they can’t do!

Kai from Khaleel Photography was the most perfect photographer we could’ve imagined for a wedding like this one; his photos are moody, a little dark and gorgeous. This one probably won’t fit with most of our readers’ styles, but it’s so uniquely beautiful and we know you will love it! Our team’s creativity really shines through in this wedding’s details… just wait until y’all see the ceremony and reception details and the most insane cake you’ve ever laid eyes on!

This couple eloped at The Barn on November 10, 2018. The bride described their theme as “Gothic Victorian.” Honestly, this wedding gave us major Edgar Allan Poe vibes and we were 100% feeling it. Their color palette was perfect for a wedding with goth details - black, deep reds, rose gold and ivory. The bride said her absolute favorite thing about her wedding day was “the really Gothicy feel.”

There were so many incredible, unique details at this wedding, but the bride’s dress (from Always & Forever) was one of our favorites, hands down. The Barn’s first black bridal gown EVER, and we’re in love with it! She kept the goth vibes going with her nails and accessories, as well. This couple went all out with their theme and they rocked it!

DSC05479.jpg

For the couple’s bouquets and florals, our team chose dark red roses and black star calla lilies. “It was so me!” the bride said.

s2.jpg

The ceremony details were a little creepy and seriously cool. We did an epic dark red rose petal design down their aisle, and their altar was Gothed out with a black drape, and black and dark red florals. Their aisle was lined with lanterns with black ribbons and hanging dark red flowers. It was uniquely gorgeous, and even though it was not our norm, we were totally into it.

DSC05309.jpg

Their reception was equally Gothic, Victorian and elegant. Their tables included black tablecloths, sparkly black sequined runners, black and red florals in mirrored boxes, candles (including some awesome black tapers in black candlesticks), lanterns, and vases filled with branches. Their sweetheart table included hanging bulbs and a little bit of fog action for the perfect creepy touch. It was beautiful, and the bride said the inside of The Barn was one of her favorite parts of her wedding day. Who knew goth could be so darn pretty?!

Remember when I said this wedding had the most insane cake ever?! Here it is in all its glory! Kneading Hands Bakery absolutely blew us away with this gorgeous, super detailed Victorian style cake. Check out that level of detail! Our team created a custom red “til death do us part” skull topper and added dripping black calla lilies and red roses. The black candles and sparkly black runner on their cake table were the icing on the cake!

Kai took such gorgeous pictures around The Barn, and since this bride said The Barn itself was her favorite detail of the day, let us just brag for a minute about how pretty this place is. ;) Check out the creepy vibes in that first photo!

This wedding is officially one of our most unforgettable weddings of all time. We will never forget this one, and we wish this couple the very best! xoxo

Bailey + Mason's Navy, Blush & Burgundy Fall Wedding

This intimate October wedding was just the prettiest, sweetest wedding ever. A super sweet couple, a beautiful fall color palette, the most elegant details, and some seriously gorgeous florals… we loved every second of this one. We’re absolutely swooning over these dreamy photos by Hannah Motes, who is the sister-in-law of the bride, and we know y’all are going to adore this one!

Bailey and Mason were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 26, 2018. Their navy, blush and burgundy color palette was stunning, and it was absolutely perfect for a fall wedding. Their details were elegant and luxurious. Every piece of this wedding was pure beauty! “Honestly I give Pinterest all the credit,” Bailey said. “But I knew I wanted a fall wedding and wanted the colors to match.”

Wedding videography is always a good idea, and we encourage our couples to work it into their budget if they’re able to! It’s truly the best way to remember every moment from your wedding day that you don’t want to forget - all the emotions, all the details, all the people who made your day so special. A video really captures the vibes from your wedding day, and we can’t recommend them enough. We LOVE Bailey and Mason’s sweet, romantic video from Blue Box Videography.

Bailey’s florals were luxurious and beautiful, with white roses, deep red dahlias, a little bit of blush astilbe and greenery. They were simple yet gorgeous. The white ribbon tied around her bouquet was the perfect touch. “I asked for something simple and not too big and that’s exactly what I got,” she said.

Bailey found her dream dress at David’s Bridal, and it was perfection. It had a gorgeous neckline, the prettiest lace, and a lovely silhouette. It was timeless and classic, but the plunging back kept it totally modern. You were the most gorgeous bride, Bailey!

This sweet bride said her absolute favorite moment of the day was her first look with her soon-to-be husband. “The beautiful background and the privacy of it was so special,” she said. “I still tear up when I think about it.”

[Our wedding] was EVERYTHING I had hoped for. I had been engaged for a year and a half before I called The Barn. I was overwhelmed with planning and finally decided to call and ask for help. Lesleigh took over and made it exactly what I wanted. The day of went so smoothly and I loved how laid back and calm it was. I never once felt pressured or overwhelmed. I was able to truly enjoy my wedding day. Having my wedding at The Barn was the best decision I could have made.

Some of my favorite details from this wedding were the bridal party’s attire. The guys’ navy suits and burgundy ties paired with the girls’ blush and burgundy dresses... it was just so beautiful. Bailey allowed her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses, and it could not have turned out any prettier! “I gave them a color and let them decide,” she said. “I love the way it turned out with all the different shades of blush.”

IMG_2991.jpg

Bailey and Mason’s ceremony was intimate and dreamy. Their altar was so romantic, with burgundy drapes and lush florals. Their aisle was lined with wire sconces filled with burgundy and white flowers, and they had a simple, adorable guestbook table with a small floral arrangement and a spot for guests to drop their written well wishes for the couple.

Baileys favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was “how intimate it was,” she said. “I can’t pick a favorite detail because it was all the little details put in together that really made it feel special. I felt like everything flowed and tied my vision together perfectly.”

IMG_2285.jpg
I’m in a really busy part of my life right now trying to finish my last semester of college and am so indecisive. I made a Pinterest page and kind of told Lesleigh she had free creative range of my wedding to do what she thought looked best. She combined everything from that Pinterest board and turned it into something so much better! She is honestly the sweetest person and I’m so thankful for her!

How precious is this family?!

Bailey and Mason had a cake cutting inside The Barn, and it was romantic and so dreamy under The Barn’s gorgeous lighting and draping. How magical does this look?! They had the cutest little cake ever. I never get tired of this style of cake… super simple with a few beautiful flowers. Perfect!

Bailey and Mason, thank you so much for letting us plan your wedding with you! It was absolutely perfect, and we loved every bit of it. Best wishes and congratulations! xoxo

Autumn + Tanner's Neutral Ranch Wedding

Happy New Year! We’re so excited that our first post of the new year features one of our very favorite weddings from last year! We’ve dubbed this our “longhorn wedding,” and if you know us at all, you know this was right up our alley! This sweet couple was another of our beloved Kingfisher couples, and it made our month that they drove all the way from western Oklahoma to get hitched at The Barn! Tanner just so happens to be Matt’s son, and he and Autumn tied the knot just one weekend after Matt and Erica were here! Autumn got ahold of us on a Friday and asked if they could get married on Sunday… as in two days later. It was kinda crazy, but we LOVED this gorgeous wedding and this couple! Crystal Malloy Photography captured this wedding so beautifully - she’s pretty much the official photographer for our Kingfisher couples, and we’re always obsessed with her work.

Autumn and Tanner were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on December 9, 2018. Their color palette was full of whites and greens. They chose a rustic, ranch style theme, and many of their details were also classic. It was just SO pretty and perfect for The Barn’s surroundings!

Autumn was the prettiest bride ever, y’all. She wore a classic, timeless dress from David’s Bridal, and we loved every part of it - especially the gorgeous lace neckline. She wore beautiful, classic accessories, including a gorgeous pair of earrings, the prettiest sash around her waist, a stunning veil trimmed with lace, and a great pair of boots. Autumn, you were absolutely glowing!

at2.jpg

We loved this beautiful mama getting ready for her wedding day while holding her adorable baby boy!

at4.jpg

Autumn had the most timeless bouquets and florals. She wanted loads of white roses and greenery, and it was so simple yet stunning. The wrap on her bouquet consisted of leather and lace, which was such a unique, personal touch. “It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!” she said. “It was everything I could’ve asked for!”

At The Barn, we LOVE our longhorns, so we were thrilled when Autumn and Tanner wanted longhorns used throughout their decor. We were CRAZY about this longhorn altar! Autumn said that was one of her favorite details, and it made their ceremony so unique and personal. In their altar setup, we also included ivory and burlap drapes, white flowers and lots of beautiful greenery, an old whiskey barrel, and of course, the Kingfisher cowhide. (If you don’t know, our Kingfisher couples love to tie the knot while standing on this thing, so we’ve officially named it after them! ;) This ceremony was just SO pretty. We can’t get over it!

Autumn and Tanner’s ceremony was incredibly intimate. Only their precious baby boy and Tanner’s mom were in attendance, and it was the sweetest little ceremony. Autumn said one moment she would always remember was “walking down the aisle to my handsome husband greeting me with the biggest smile on his face, telling me over and over again how beautiful I looked!”

Autumn’s absolute favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was “how unique Lesleigh made everything to make it our day,” she said. “My favorite part was how stress free and relaxed everything was!”

They did WONDERFUL and went above and beyond to make it everything we wanted in such a short amount of time. I literally messaged her on a Friday and we had a wedding 2 days later on a Sunday. It was everything I could’ve hoped and dreamed for!!
— Autumn

Crystal takes the best portraits of her couples, and we are swooning over these. They are incredibly romantic and beautiful, and I just can’t get over how lovely it is out here even in December! These two make such a gorgeous couple… get ready for some serious eye candy!

I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding! It was so relaxed and went so smooth. All we had to do was show up and get dressed. It was such an amazing experience. If you want a stress free wedding at a very reasonable price, I would choose The Barn any day! It was the best!! Lesleigh is such a sweetheart and is up for anything, even my crazy adventure of wanting to take pictures with her beautiful Longhorns! Overall it was amazing and so much fun!

Their white cake, topped with and surrounded by white roses and the loveliest greenery, matched their other details so perfectly - it was simple, rustic and totally stunning. We sat it atop an old whiskey barrel, and of course we added more longhorn details! Gosh, this cake display was so pretty.

The newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife inside The Barn, just the two of them, and it was incredibly romantic under the chandeliers and sparkling lights. This is one reason why elopements are the best! SO insanely romantic.

Autumn and Tanner, we LOVED your wedding. We are so glad you made the trip to The Barn to tie the knot! We’ll never forget your gorgeous wedding details! Best wishes and congrats! xoxo

Erica + Matt's Rustic Windmill Wedding

We lovingly refer to today’s wedding as the “windmill wedding.” It was unlike anything we’ve done before and we LOVED it. Have we mentioned how much we adore our Kingfisher, Oklahoma couples?! Erica and Matt were one of our Kingfisher couples (there have been several now) who made the drive all the way from western Oklahoma to elope at The Barn. Their family apparently really loves The Barn, because a few days after Erica and Matt’s wedding, Matt’s son Tanner and his fiance Autumn got ahold of us and asked if they could book their elopement with us… for two days later! They came from Kingfisher and tied the knot on Sunday; it was gorgeous and we can’t wait to share it with you! (FYI, we thought it was time for a Kingfisher tag on here, so you can scroll through all the Kingfisher weddings we’ve had so far.) We’re absolutely swooning over their photos by the always incredible Crystal Malloy Photography! She’s basically our official photographer for Kingfisher couples! :)

Erica and Matt were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on December 1, 2018. They chose a gorgeous color palette of red, brown, turquoise and cream. Their details were rustic… this bride LOVED windmills, rusty old things, wheat and creamer cans. It was right up our alley!

We’re head over heels for Erica’s bridal gown (from David’s Bridal) with its plunging illusion neckline, stunning back and romantic lace! We also loved the unique, sheer detailing on the sides, as well as her fun red heels. This bride had the most joyful smile on her face all day, which made her the prettiest bride ever!

2Z1A0177.jpg

Erica’s florals were some of the prettiest details from their wedding. They were unique and full of the prettiest late fall/early winter colors, with a combination of rich red dahlias, a mix of brown and cream flowers, seeded eucalyptus, and wheat, all tied up with twine and some blue ribbon. Erica’s dad is a wheat farmer, so it was such a special touch to add wheat in her florals and throughout her other details. Erica simply said her florals were “GORGEOUS!”

2Z1A0220.jpg
2Z1A0002.jpg

One of Erica’s most unforgettable moments from her wedding day was her first look with her dad. These photos absolutely melted us! “It was a very unique and a treasured moment when my Dad saw me for the first time,” Erica said. “He has such a soft heart! As I'm sure you can tell by the pictures!”

em5.jpg

Erica and Matt’s ceremony was stunning, thanks in part to the gorgeous 70 degree weather in December! Erica wanted something a little different; she loves rusty old things and windmills, so we used our vintage doors, an old windmill, wooden crates, two rusty creamer cans, and a few mason jars to make the perfect rustic ceremony backdrop. We added florals above the windmill and in the creamer cans and mason jars, and the pops of red were so gorgeous! Erica wanted to use turquoise in her decor as well, so we added that in with a few jade-turquoise ribbons. She and Matt exchanged their vows while standing on what we’ve dubbed our “Kingfisher cowhide.” ;) What can we say?! Our Kingfisher couples love it!

“The windmill and touches of wheat were probably my favorite details,” Erica said.

2Z1A9229.jpg
2Z1A9240.jpg

Erica and Matt’s ceremony was very intimate and sweet, with only her parents in attendance. Erica’s favorite moment of the day was “when I first got to see my husband as I was walking down the aisle,” she said. Can’t you feel the love and pure happiness in these photos?! These two are the absolute sweetest.

Erica said the best thing about getting married at The Barn was that it was “so laid back and non-stressful!”

Are y’all ready to see the most gorgeous wedding portraits of all time?! We are IN LOVE with these! Erica and Matt are so sweet together, and these photos of them in their first few minutes as husband and wife are so full of joy and love. And they’re just so PRETTY!

It was absolutely perfect! We cannot thank Lesleigh and the team at The Barn enough for how beautiful everything was and how smoothly it all went. It was completely stress free, which was great! We definitely recommend it to anyone looking to tie the knot!

For their cake display, we kept things rustic with an old window (with the prettiest red and white flowers) hanging over a wooden crate sitting on an old whiskey barrel. The turquoise ribbon on the floral arrangement and the drink bottle were the perfect finishing touches for this cake display. Their cake was super unique, and I’m not even gonna pretend like I know what this technique is called, but it was amazing! The best cake for a unique, rustic wedding.

After their wedding, Erica and Matt spent a night in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and she said they plan to go on a honeymoon next year!

Erica and Matt, we LOVED every detail of your wedding! It was a dream, and we’re thrilled that you came all the way to The Barn to tie the knot! We wish y’all the best! xoxo

Whitley + Victor's Star Wars Themed Wedding

You are the droid I’m looking for...

Every once in a while, a couple comes along that asks us to do something totally different for their wedding. And we love it. We are obviously head over heels for a gorgeous, “normal” wedding, but we LOVE when we get asked to do something a little crazy! Whitley and Victor chose a Star Wars theme for their elopement, and they specifically chose R2-D2 and BB-8 as their inspiration. And it turned out AMAZING. There were lightsabers (duh), an R2-D2 suit (obviously), and a whole bunch of pretty blue and orange details! Our team managed to create a wedding that was fun and quirky, but also still totally gorgeous. We’ll always remember this one! Whitney from WDPhotography took their photos, and we love them!

Photographer: WDPhotography | Venue, Coordination, Design, Florals: The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch | Bridal Gown: David’s Bridal | Cake: Kneading Hands Bakery | Hair & Nails: Jessie Miller | Decals: Stephanie Swatzel

***

In a galaxy far, far away... Whitley and Victor were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 18, 2018. Their colors were orange and blue, and their theme was Star Wars! “I was the BB-8 to his R2-D2,” Whitley said. LOVE!

Whitley said her favorite thing about her entire wedding day was the theme! We agree... it was such a fun theme, and every detail was very well thought out and fit in flawlessly. “It was better than I could have ever imagined,” she said. “It was absolutely perfect.”

1Collage.jpg

Whitley and Victor were our coolest couple of all time. Their outfits were SO good and fit their theme perfectly. Whitley wore a tea-length, strapless bridal gown with an orange petticoat underneath (inspired by BB-8, of course!). We very rarely see short wedding dresses, but they are so fun and perfect for a fun, lighthearted wedding! Victor wore the most epic R2-D2 suit. These two rocked their theme through every detail of their wedding, including their attire! Did we mention that Whitley even had orange streaks through her hair?! These two went all out. So dang awesome.

FB3D7753.jpg

Whitley had some of the brightest, most fun florals we’ve ever done, and we are crazy about these! “My favorite is sunflowers so there were those, as well as orange and blue flowers,” Whitley said. “Just a big colorful mix that was gorgeous.” There were pops of silver and loads of greenery, too… so, so pretty!

Whitley said she and Victor “gave full reign to the team for the location of the ceremony on the property, the altar, and the cake.” Our team set up their ceremony off to the side of The Barn’s front doors (they were the first couple to tie the knot in this exact spot!). We used our hexagon altar with a silver glitter drape, orange and blue florals, and a whole bunch of lightsabers! Their aisle was lined with small orange and blue floral arrangements in mason jars.

FB3D7733.jpg

Whitley and Victor asked some of their closest friends and family to participate in their ceremony, which made it extra special. Their friend Alahna Martin performed a song, and another friend, Ryan Swatzel, was ordained so he could be their officiant. They also had a fun, unique unity paint ceremony. As they walked back down the aisle as newlyweds, a few of their guests held up lightsabers, which made for the coolest grand exit ever!

The Barn did an amazing job. It was absolutely better than I could ever have imagined. It was out of this world — pun intended.
— Whitley

FB3D8147.jpg

Whitley and Victor had a small, intimate reception full of Star Wars inspired details! “We had many Star Wars figurines and knickknacks that we had scattered throughout,” she said. “We had a Star Wars photo booth prop set up.” They also sent their guests home with several Star Wars themed favors, including decals, stickers and temporary tattoos. They had a simple white cake with orange and blue details and a Star Wars topper, of course!
