10 Reasons to Elope at The Barn

Our spring season has been full of elopements, and I can’t wait to share them all with you! One of the most popular topics readers of The Barn Blog ask me about is our elopement collection. I think a lot of our couples and readers are torn on whether or not eloping is a good idea, and even if they truly want to elope, they have a "real" wedding and reception instead. Eloping is definitely not for everyone, but there are a few reasons you may want to consider eloping! Many people think elopements are only for pregnant brides or couples that have been in previous marriages. That is so not the case, y'all! Elopements are romantic, intimate, and at The Barn, they are just as stunning and amazing as other weddings! Here are 10 reasons why you might want to consider eloping.

1. You want a beautiful wedding, but without having to plan anything yourself. With elopements, we ask our couples to give us an overall color palette and theme that they love, and then we get creative and come up with a unique, beautiful masterpiece! Elopements are even less hands-on for our couples than our weddings... Which is pretty crazy, because even our most over-the-top weddings require very little effort from the bride and groom! If you want to do literally NO work in coming up with decor ideas, an elopement may be for you! You can literally show up in your dress, marry your love, take a bunch of photos, cut the cake and GO!

2. You want gorgeous wedding photos, but without everything that goes along with a big wedding. Some couples just aren't into everything that goes along with a big wedding, but it's also important to them to have stunning photos to look back on for their entire lives. This is where elopements come in! Your photos will be gorgeous, guaranteed (if you choose a professional photographer, that is!).

3. You're super romantic. There is nothing as romantic as running away to get married and then surprising all your family and friends with the big news! Morgan + Wager posted a "just eloped" photo to Facebook after their elopement to share their news... How fun is that!

4. Your family is crazy. Some of us just have totally cray-cray families who may or may not make a wedding a little (or a lot!) stressful, dramatic or awkward. Lord love 'em. Families can make weddings SUPER insane (we've seen it... eek!). If you're pretty sure your family is going to put a damper on your big day, an elopement miiiight be the way to go.

5. You want to get married, like NOW. We can plan elopements super fast. As long as we've got time to get the flowers and cake in, we've got time to plan an unforgettable elopement! We planned one of our most gorgeous (in my opinion) elopements in FOUR days. If you just can't wait any longer to tie the knot, call us up!

6. You want a fairy tale wedding, but you're low on funds. Elopements are less expensive than weddings, obviously, because there are fewer guests and only a cake cutting instead of a full-on reception. It is not realistic for everyone to be able to spend tons of money on their wedding day. The Barn's elopements are proof that you can have an utterly stunning wedding on a budget! (I just want to add that ALL of our all-inclusive wedding collections are lower than national and state wedding cost averages. You can read more about that here.)

7. You don't like having all the attention on you. Elopements are simple and intimate, and that's perfect if one of you is super shy... It can be just the two of you (plus your officiant and photographer), or you can invite up to 25 guests. Way less overwhelming than the amount of guests at a traditional wedding! If the thought of saying your I do's and sharing your first dance in front of loads of people terrified you, consider eloping!

8. Your honeymoon is equally (or more) important to you as your wedding. Weddings are expensive. Honeymoons are expensive. If you want to have an amazing wedding, but you also want to go on the trip of a lifetime, an elopement could be your answer. Our elopement packages are inexpensive, but gorgeous... You're not sacrificing style when you elope! And you're also not spending so much that you can't afford to go on a killer honeymoon. It's a win-win situation!

9. You want to be surrounded by your closest friends and family in an intimate, low key setting. If your mom is pressuring you into inviting 80 people you don't even know, tell her you've decided to elope and are keeping the guest list under 25. She'll be thrilled. ;) Sharing your best day ever with only those closest to you is SO intimate and romantic and meaningful. It's also totally chic and trendy!

10. You want a sweet, meaningful vow renewal with your spouse. You can have an "elopement" at The Barn even if you're already married! Our elopement collection is perfect for vow renewals. That's totally my plan for in a few years, if I can get my sweet husband on board!

There are sooooo many other wonderful, totally legit reasons to elope! Elopements at The Barn  = No stress. Gorgeous wedding. Beautiful florals and other details. Tons of romance. Delicious cake. What could be better?  You can read more about what our elopement collection includes here

Jennifer + Troy's Rustic Purple Elopement

If y'all haven't figured it out by now, we're kinda into our elopements! And apparently y'all are into them, too, because we're asked about them every single day. No one does elopements quite like The Barn - they're incredibly romantic and full of the most beautiful details! If you want all the details on our super popular elopement collection, read this post.

Jennifer and Troy eloped at The Barn last fall, and their wedding had the prettiest purple details - including a purple bridal gown, which we're still obsessing over! These photos by one of our favorites, Erin Wilson Photography, are beyond dreamy! Get ready for some major swoonage!

Jennifer and Troy were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch in November 2017. Their wedding was full of rustic chic details and loads of pretty purple. The prettiest purple detail was Jennifer's dress! We LOVE a unique bridal gown, and this one was stunning. We also loved her accessories - the prettiest belt, a gorgeous hair piece, and a great pair of boots. Jennifer, you are such a beauty!

Jennifer's bouquet and florals were sooo insanely pretty. They included a mixture of purple and white roses, succulents, scabiosa pods, and a mixture of greenery. All of the texture in her bouquet made it perfect for a rustic wedding!

Jennifer and Troy's ceremony was full of rustic details and pretty purple florals. Their altar was draped with burlap (like, COVERED in burlap, y'all) and also included four white and purple floral arrangements - this is always one of our favorite altar styles! They also had a fabulous mason jar chandelier hanging from their altar and wire sconces full of flowers lining their aisle. Their guestbook table details were super sweet - florals and the sweetest burlap and lace streamer wands for their guests to wave as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife!

Elopement ceremonies are always intimate and romantic. Some of our elopement couples choose to say their I do's with only an officiant and a photographer present, but Jennifer and Troy shared their ceremony with their closest family, friends, and their children. One of the most special moments was their unity ceremony, in which they literally tied the knot! They also walked back down the aisle with their cute kids, which was the most perfect way for this sweet family to begin their new life together.

Erin's portraits are always stunning, and these are just the prettiest. One of the BEST things about eloping at The Barn is that our couples are able to have the small, intimate wedding they're hoping for, but they also get GORGEOUS pictures like these! If you want to elope but you also want the gorgeous pictures of a "traditional" wedding, our elopement collection is for you!

Elopements at The Barn include a cake cutting, with the prettiest cake and cake table set-up you've ever seen. Jennifer and Troy's cake was a simple, rustic white cake with a touch of greenery and flowers. Stacked vintage crates and a vintage barrel made the perfect cake table for a rustic wedding!

Jennifer and Troy, we're so happy y'all chose to elope at The Barn! We loved planning your pretty, purple day with you! Best wishes and congratulations! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Maranda + Mark's Romantic Christmas Elopement

We're counting down the days until spring's arrival, but we also can't stop thinking about this beautiful December elopement! This couple is so sweet, and their Christmas-inspired details were magical. Their wedding was intimate, romantic, and full of ALL the candlelight! Brooke Proctor took these photos, and they could not be more beautiful!

Elopements at The Barn are a huge deal - they're what we're asked about more than anything else - so if you're curious about our elopement collections, click here for all the details!

Maranda and Mark were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on December 9, 2017. Their colors were burgundy and navy, and their details were romantic, wintry, and a tiny bit boho. Maranda wanted a Christmas theme, "but without the snowflakes and all that," she said. We used candlelight throughout their details to create super romantic, cozy vibes!

"If you know me...you know I love candlelight and sunsets," Maranda said. "That was the most important part to me. I wanted my hopeless romantic, bubble bath with candlelight, sunset watching, love story reading parts of me to shine through, and they did. Perfectly."

Maranda's gorgeous dress came from David's Bridal, and its trumpet silhouette, beautiful lace, and touch of bling have us swooning over here! And while we're on the subject of things that make us swoon, let's chat about that bouquet! There's never been a more perfect Christmas-inspired bridal bouquet, and my favorite detail was probably the navy ribbon. "The pine cones and roses, omg," Maranda said. "I still have it on my dresser. I will never throw it out. It’s still beautiful a month later."

My favorite photos from this wedding are these super romantic portraits. Not only is this couple gorgeous, but The Barn just looks so darn pretty in these! We love the moody, wintry vibes in these photos!

You guys were honestly perfect. It was so easy and simple. That’s what I wanted. I’m a nurse and my husband works in a factory with swing shift, so with our crazy schedules planning wasn’t really an option. But you guys made a beautiful wedding still possible, I’m so thankful!
— Maranda

Maranda and Mark said their I Do's inside The Barn in a very intimate ceremony. Their details were super romantic, and The Barn has probably never looked so cozy! Their aisle was lined with red rose petals, lanterns and candles. There were hanging bulbs and burgundy drapery at their altar, as well as beautiful floral arrangements that included red roses, pinecones and greenery. I loved the wood elements in their altar, and of course, the candlelight!

Maranda said her favorite details were the candles. "So romantic," she said. "So perfect. I couldn’t have done it better myself. She did exactly what I pictured, if not better!" And one moment she'll never forget was when her veil fell off during the ceremony! ;)

How adorable is their little white and navy wedding cake?! This was one of my favorite cake displays ever.

Maranda and Mark's wedding day ended with a sparkler exit... even intimate elopements need a stunning grand exit! They have yet to go on their honeymoon, but they play to go on one in March!

Maranda and Mark, y'all had the prettiest Christmas wedding ever! We loved your big day, and we loved planning it with you! Best wishes and congratulations! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Destiny + Dalton's Burgundy & Gold Fall Elopement

It's no secret that we LOVE elopements, and this wedding was one of our sweet, intimate, crazy romantic fall elopements. This couple chose a simple, elegant fall theme and the prettiest details. Thanks to Mariann J. Photography for these beautiful photos! For more info on our super popular elopement collection, click here.

Destiny and Dalton were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 19, 2017. Their colors were burgundy and gold. "I wanted a fall theme so the colors seemed perfect for the time of year!" Destiny said.

Destiny's bridal gown, from Always & Forever, was absolutely gorgeous. We always LOVE dresses with sleeves, and this one was beyond dreamy. We're dying over the lace detailing on those sleeves! Dalton looked handsome in a classic black tux with a burgundy vest and bow tie. What a beautiful couple!

Some of Destiny's favorite details of the day were her bouquet and other florals. "I just gave a very vague idea of what I wanted and Lesleigh and Kori did amazing!" she said. She chose a unique combination of red roses, red berries, gold leaves and a little bit of greenery - the perfect simple bouquet for fall and winter weddings!

Elopement ceremonies are very romantic and intimate. Destiny and Dalton had a few of their closest friends and family present as they said their I do's. My favorite detail from their wedding was the altar! The one-sided burgundy and ivory drape was stunning and unique. The rest of their ceremony details were very simple and minimal, with small floral arrangements down the aisle.

Everything went so well! They made sure everything went so smoothly and I was very impressed... I don’t think The Barn could’ve done any better! They were amazing and went above and beyond! I would recommend them to anyone!
— Destiny

Destiny said one of her favorite details was the chandelier over the dance floor inside The Barn. "It is absolutely beautiful and made for some amazing pictures during our first dance!" she said.

Destiny and Dalton's cake was simple and sweet. As much as I love a super detailed cake, I think simple white ones are my fave! The red flowers and gold backdrop were the perfect touches. One thing Destiny will always remember about her wedding: "Shoving cake in Dalton’s face at the reception!"

Destiny and Dalton headed to New Orleans to celebrate the beginning of their marriage. "We spent a couple days in New Orleans exploring and then went on a cruise to Cozumel," Destiny said. "It was amazing and I can’t wait to go back!"

Destiny and Dalton, we loved planning your gorgeous, romantic elopement with you! Best wishes and congratulations! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Barn Elopements Three Ways

Elopements at The Barn have gotten sorta HUGE. In fact, I am emailed about our elopement collections more than anything else! Barn Elopements are romantic, inexpensive (they start at $1,650... say what?!), and super easy. As with all of our other collections, the only thing our elopement brides and grooms have to do: show up and have a great time! Our elopements are perhaps even less stressful than our other wedding collections (which are already the least stressful weddings EVER), because our team does literally all the planning, coordinating, decorating, etc. If you haven't read about our elopements before, this is a quick rundown of how they work: you tell us the colors and overall theme you like, and our incredibly creative team just runs with it. Our elopements are always some of our prettiest weddings, because our team gets to go all out with the details, and it's always such a wonderful surprise for our couples!

I've written about our elopement collections many times... if you need more info, check out these posts: elopement collection details and 10 reasons to elope at The Barn. You can always email us, too! Go to the contact page or send us an email at barnattwinoaksranch {at} yahoo {dot} com.

Here are three of our favorite, most talked about elopements. They all vary in style, colors, themes, etc. And they are ALL amazing! You can also see three different ways we've styled other styles of weddings: boho weddings, rustic weddings, whimsical weddings, and glam weddings

Intimate, Simple Fall Elopement

Ali and Lee's intimate fall elopement was perhaps the most simple one we've ever done, but it was just as beautiful as every other one we've done! These two have such a sweet love story, and they wanted a wedding that was as laidback as they are. The love they have for each other was definitely the most beautiful detail of their wedding day. They had a beautiful, rustic altar, the prettiest pink florals, the sweetest cake of all time, and a beautiful fall setting. My absolute favorite details were Ali's dress and accessories. Sometimes simple weddings are the sweetest and most beautiful of all!

Colorful Rustic-Cowboy-Gypsy-Chic Elopement

If you've been reading The Barn Blog for very long, you've undoubtedly seen this elopement a time or two... I can't stop talking about it! Morgan and Wager's elopement was super detailed, and it was one that we will never forget. Morgan loves all things bright, rustic, cowboy and gypsy inspired, so our team took all of those things and made THIS gorgeous masterpiece elopement. We're never, EVER gonna be over that altar (rusty tin, pallets, steer heads, hanging florals and lights, a cowhide, etc.) orrrr that macaron-topped cake. This elopement was right up our alley! It was a little bit rustic, a little bit cowboy, a little bit gypsy, and a LOT fabulous.

Colorful, Whimsical Balloon Elopement

Sujey and Jeffrey were married over two years ago, and I still can't get over their sweet, creative, adorable Up-inspired elopement. It's been on this blog a lot, and I'm sure I'll continue to bring it up, because I'm obsessed. (Sorry, not sorry!) When this precious couple told us they wanted an Up theme and a bright, bold color palette, our team went to town blowing up balloons and making the most epic altar ever. Other highlights from this elopement: colorful florals, adorable tiny naked cakes, and a balloon arch behind their cake table.
