Wedding Inspiration: Pretty Furniture!

Hey y'all! I feel like it's been forever since I've seen ya. Last week I was super sick, so I took part of the week off. But I'm feeling much better now (finally!), so this week I'll be back to my regular blogging schedule. Woohoo!

2014 was the year of wedding furniture. I'm talking about the fancy stuff, not just regular ol' reception tables and chairs (although ours actually are beautiful and fancy!). I really love this trend! Perhaps it's because the use of furniture in your ceremony, cocktail hour or reception decor creates such a cozy, comfortable atmosphere, like you're at a dinner party at someone's home rather than a wedding. Or maybe it's because it's just so darn pretty. Whatever it is, I LOVE pretty furniture for a wedding, whether it's a desk or dresser overflowing with flowers at the altar, pretty couches and chairs with throw pillows at the cocktail hour, or rustic-chic hay bale furniture on The Barn's lawn. Here are my favorite ways to use furniture for a wedding:

This mantel with personal photos at Ally + Tyler's wedding is so lovely. I think this is one of our sweetest altars! Plus, don't you know this couple loves having their actual altar in their home as a reminder of their big day? So sweet!

I have a serious obsession with vintage couches, and these are GORGEOUS. I love the idea of having vintage couches for your guests to lounge on during the cocktail hour, or a sweet little settee for the sweetheart table.

This desk full of flowers from Sarabeth + John's wedding is over-the-top pretty. This altar is so unique! The window, the draping... it is just perfection.

This cocktail hour lawn set-up is mindblowingly gorgeous. I mean, they even included pictures hanging on the trees, a mirror and an amazing chandelier! It's all in the details, y'all.

Why not use a pretty little antique table for your altar or guestbook table? And definitely fill any drawers with flowers. This little detail is GORGEOUS and super easy!

Putting your cake on a pretty dresser or buffet is always a good idea. See what I mean?!

I am obsessed with this hay bale couch from Courtney + Chad's wedding! We've had LOTS of hay bale couches at The Barn... they're perfect for a country or rustic wedding!

Y'all, it does not get much prettier than this amazing mismatched vintage ceremony seating! I'd like each of these pieces of furniture in my home stat, please.

This sweet vintage desk from EmeryAnn + Andrew's wedding is another example of how to use furniture in your ceremony. I've told y'all time and time again how much I love this altar, and that little desk is a huge part of why I love it so much! It's just the perfect detail.

Remember at the beginning of this post when I told y'all that even our regular ol' tables and chairs at The Barn are pretty? Well, here's proof from Nikki + Scott's wedding. We really do have the most gorgeous chairs and linens!

What do y'all think about this trend?! Would you have fancy furniture at your own wedding, or would you rather stick to the normal stuff?

By the way, we have some SUUUUUUPER EXCITING (!!!!!!!) things to announce this week! Stay tuned to our Facebook page and this little blog. You sure won't wanna miss it! There are some big, HUGE things happening for The Barn right now, y'all! And we're really thankful and excited and honored. <3

See y'all tomorrow!

xoxo,
Kelsi
