Let's Talk About Money!

Over the past couple of days, you may have noticed us talking on Facebook about our wedding collection costs vs. the average cost of a wedding in Arkansas. Spoiler: we're waaaaaay cheaper than state and national averages! I wrote this post almost a year ago, but since many of you are recently engaged and are curious about how we compare to other weddings around Arkansas (or around the country), this seemed like the perfect time to repost it!

It's still engagement season, so let's keep talking about wedding planning! If you've got a shiny new rock on your finger, congratulations! Last week, I told y'all all about the three wedding collections we offer at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch. This week, let's discuss something a little more boring that can be sort of awkward. I'm talking about money and your wedding budget, of course!

If you've read through the pages on our website, you probably know that our wedding collections start at $8,540. Yes, I know that is a lot of money! Beautiful weddings are expensive. But did you know that $8,540 for the wedding of your dreams is dirt cheap? When people ask me how much our weddings are, and I tell them what they start at, they look at me like I am insane. But let me give you a boring little lesson on wedding prices.

Cost of Wedding reported that the average wedding price in the United States is currently $25,200. According to The Wedding Report, the average cost of a wedding in Arkansas in 2013 was $20,219. The average cost of a wedding in Yell County (where The Barn is) in 2013 was $18,003. In Pope County (our neighboring county), the average price in 2013 was $20,130. If you look at the average costs in Northwest Arkansas or the Little Rock area, they are even higher. Our collections start at almost $10,000 less than the average wedding price in Yell County! All of our collections are much, much lower than each of these averages! And don't forget, our weddings are all-inclusive. You get way more than just the venue when you choose The Barn!

Here's a little story from when I was planning my own wedding. Before I came across The Barn on Facebook, I found a country club that I thought could potentially be our wedding venue. It was $4,000 just for the venue, for only a few hours. That didn't even include table and chair rentals! Say WHAT?! Just for this venue, couples pay roughly half of what our collections start at. For Richard and I, paying $4,000 for a venue was just not going to happen. So I found a barn that I also loved, and guess what?! It was $5,000!!! It included the tables and chairs, but only a limited amount. If my guest count exceeded the amount of tables and chairs they had, I would have to rent my own.

There are definitely venues out there that are much cheaper than The Barn. But keep in mind, when you choose a venue that isn't all-inclusive, you have to pay for everything individually. If you want a beautiful wedding and you choose to pay for everything separately, I promise that you will spend WAAAAAY more than you would at The Barn. Like, way, wayyyy more. And you will have to do everything on your own, or hire an expensive planner to do it for you!

At The Barn, we provide everything you could need or want for your wedding day, and we don't skimp on things like tables and chairs (or anything, for that matter). We not only provide the necessities, but we also don't leave out any tiny detail! We are able to plan a stunning wedding for much cheaper than you can purchase everything individually on your own. Plus, our couples don't have to do ANY of the work themselves! We make wedding planning as simple as creating a Pinterest board and picking out ideas that you like. It's not one bit stressful, and our couples are able to relax and enjoy their engagement and their wedding day. And the best of all, on the day of your wedding, you'll get to sip champagne with  your bridesmaids in the Bridal Suite, without worrying about setting everything up on time or taking it all down when the party is over!

How is that even possible, for so much less than what most couples spend around here?! It's like MAGIC. Seriously.

If you're still not convinced, check out this informative article on Arkansas Bride that shows what Arkansas couples spend money on when planning their weddings. When you choose The Barn, you don't have to purchase those things individually! We're all about saving you a ton of stress! :)

Tomorrow, I have another precious 2013 wedding to share with y'all! It's vintage and classic and gorgeous. Can't wait!

xoxo,
