Your shoes and your wedding...what's it say about you?

Hey y'all, It's me, Lesleigh, and I'm taking over the blog for a couple of weeks while Kelsi is out.  So where is Kelsi?  Well, if you follow the blog, you'll know she was super prego from our delightfully trashy Redneck Baby Shower we threw her last weekend...oh yes, it was all that and a back of pork rinds!!  You can revisit that totally tackiness here.

Well, anyway, she had her sweet baby boy, and we could not be more excited!   I think our baby shower may have scared her into labor because she literally had him 72 hours later.  Not even joking y'all!!  But check out that handsome fella.....

Our sweet little Jude Henry Flinn is here! He was born on September 30 at 11:05 pm. He weighs 7 pounds, 4 ounces and is 19 3/4 inches long. He’s perfect, and we are so in love!

Diamonds, AND shoes, are a girl's best friend!!! Am I right or am I right?!

Today I'm going to chat a little about something I know WAY TOO MUCH about, and that's SHOES!!!  I'm kind of a shoe whore (can I say that on the internet?).  Boots are my weakness, of course.  Only the ones closest to me actually know how many pair I own and that they are written into my will...ha ha kidding - or am I?

This may or may not be a peek inside my closet (let me just say, it' smells delightful)

So what's a fashion savvy bride to wear to her outdoor wedding?  Shoe-wise that is.

What girl doesn't die over a great pair of wedges/boots/heels/flats.....I could go on, but you get the point.  Plus, when we have a big event coming up there isn't a better reason to go shopping for THAT one FABULOUS pair that will make us squeal with delight and want to stare at them all day long smelling that sweet smell of freshly tooled leather (oh wait, I'm talking about myself and my boots again...I digress...sorry).

When it comes to weddings, outdoor weddings in particular, the type of shoe you wear is a pretty important part of your wardrobe decision.  We've seen so many wonderful options out here at The Barn, and if you're wondering what to wear on your big day, take a few notes from our super fashionable brides....

I always say, wear something that  #1. You will be comfortable in.  The last thing you want to be thinking about on your wedding day is your shoes or your feet.  #2. Something that fits with the style of your day.  If you're a country girl at heart, go for the boots.  If you're a glam gal, then for sure get your bling on.  #3.  Something that your OK with getting a little dirty.  Lets face it, even if you are in the grass, they're gonna get filthy after about 4 hours.  NOTE: if you're wearing heels, bring a flat to change into.  Just do it.

Bling it On!

When you opt for bling, you're sassy, fashion-savvy and kind of a sucker for tradition.
Wedding gowns just scream for bling.  What doesn't make a girl feel more fancy than a heel and some sparkle.  Lots of our brides choose a heel with some bling or some shine.  Here are some of our recent faves....

You can never go wrong when you go for the comfort factor...

If you are just a sucker for comfy, there are some fabulous options for you as well, without having to sacrifice style.  If you opt for comfort on your big day, your sensible and sassy and don't care what people say - you just want style and comfort - and thats A-OK!  (Oh look, I rhymed!)

Alyssa's choice to wear monogrammed Chuck Taylors has scored her some major points with our followers!  They LOVED her choice, and so do we!
Then, Kelsey Tchamorioski's custom painted Tom's were quite adorable.

And then...when you are a Physical Education teacher then you MUST opt for some sassy sneakers!  We didn't even realize that Cathryn wore these bad boys until we saw this photo after her wedding - how did we NOT know this?!  It was amazing!

Who says you even have to wear shoes?

If you are seriously struggling with a shoe choice, maybe no shoes is the right choice for you. We've had not one, not two, but THREE brides go barefoot - and it was glorious!!!  When you go barefoot you're a free spirit, you love nature and your all about just being you!

Samantha opted to go barefoot which fit right in with her boho-themed wedding.  Even the rain didn't stop her from dancing down the aisle and then the sun came out just as they said I-DO and the band played "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles as they walked back down the aisle (I mean, does it get any more perfect than that?! Seriously!!)

But then enter the BOOTS!!!

Below are some really great ideas, and as you can see, A LOT of our brides opt for boots for both themselves and their best girls!!  Boot girls are somewhat traditional, a little bit country, a little bit vintage and a lotta bit southern!!  Yep, that's me...nailed it!

Shoes (and boots especially) make for some pretty fabulous photo-ops, like this one from Kimberly + Tony's wedding a few years back.

Below, Paige changed into a presh little getaway dress and then (get the tissues....I'll wait) put on Dorian's late mother's gorgeous two-toned boots for the great escape!  Look how perfectly they fit her!   I'd say they were meant to be, wouldn't you?!

So whether you decide to go with a fancy shoe or sans shoe, make sure your photographer gets a great shot of your shoes (or feet) because odds are you won't remember what the heck you wore the day after your wedding!  Trust me....it'll all be a blur!!

So how'd I do for not being a blogger....stick to my day job, right?

-xoxo-
