Unique Bridal Gowns: Part One

The dress is one of the most important details of any wedding day (duh!), and finding the one is a moment that no girl ever forgets! I tend to be obsessed with all bridal gowns, but I'm especially loving the unique ones that we've seen at weddings at The Barn lately, as well as around the web. Lately, we've had two brides wear gorgeous gowns in colors other than white (hi, Jaime and Katie!), and we've had a couple brides wear short dresses in the past, too. I love that brides aren't necessarily expected to wear a super traditional dress anymore... and even if you choose to wear a more traditional dress for your ceremony, it's completely acceptable to change into something more fun for your reception!

Lately, I've been swooning over unique bridal gowns that fit into four categories: colored bridal gowns (muted and bold), short bridal gowns, and bridal gowns with unique details. If you've fallen in love with a more traditional dress but your heart is also set on wearing something a little crazy, consider purchasing a less expensive dress from one of these categories for your bridal photos or your reception! Having more than one bridal gown is totally acceptable these days, and the only thing more fun that picking out one gown is picking out two! Because a post that included dresses I love from all four categories would be too long, let's just talk about gowns in muted and bold colors today and save the other two for a later date! Here are some of my favorite dresses in gorgeous colors, from weddings at The Barn, as well as some pretties that I've found on Pinterest and wedding blogs!
