Happy New Year!

Happy 2016, y'all! We hope this year is full of good luck, happiness, good health, love and adventure for all of our beloved Barn Blog readers! I asked our staff to fill me in on their favorite New Years traditions and resolutions,  and we'd love to hear all about yours, too!

Traditions

"Aside from the party hats, blowers and booze, we eat a meal of blackeyed peas, collard greens, salt pork, and cabbage. (Wealth, luck, prosperity) We toast at midnight with something gold in your drink. (Means your year will be golden) And a new tradition I plan to try out....wearing red undies when the clock strikes midnight for a year full of passion!  Ooooh la la!!" - Lesleigh. Is it just me, or are those the best?!

Lesleigh's Tiffany mugs with beer and gold rings for good luck! She also made her son Kolton some non-alcoholic Jell-O shots. Why did I not celebrate with them?!

Cindy's NYE tradition is "ringing in the New Year drinking beverages and watching college football."

Cindy's NYE = booze and football. Thumbs up to that!

Milissia said she always has friends over, finger foods, Domino's, and a bonfire on New Year's Eve, and on New Year's Day, she goes on a backroading trip.

"In my family, we always eat black eyed peas, greens, and ham hock on New Year's Day." - Ginger

Lea's NYE tradition is watching the ball drop with her family.

"Well except for last year and this year, I am usually with my family. We just snack all day on hors d'oeuvre type snacks and wait up until midnight, watch the ball drop, toast with champagne and sparkling grape juice, stay up as long as we can handle, and go to sleep!" - Kelsea

My NYEs are always different... Two years ago, I was at an unforgettable party in Los Angeles, and this year I'm ringing in the new year on the couch with my sweet baby boy. And you know, trying to finish up this blog so I can go to bed. ;) Motherhood has made me old.

Resolutions

"Every year I always resolve to: Get organized and vow to keep my house in order (lol - it's hard with a little boy but it's a nice thought). Also I say I'm going to simplify. And each year I've kind of done that little by little. It's so nice. This year I'm going to: Unplug as much as I can. Being a business owner it's difficult because there is so much to stay on top of online, but I'm going to set 'business hours' for myself and vow to stick to them!" - Lesleigh

"I try not to make very many resolutions and they always tend to be the same. My main 2 are always: to lose weight and to strive to be a better me." - Ginger

"One of my favorite New Years resolution from 2015 was to always have fresh flowers in my kitchen. It makes things cheery!!" - Victoria

My resolutions: be a better wife and mother, be healthier, simplify, and go somewhere new!

Now onto the really important stuff... Who all got a shiny rock put on your finger last night?! We cannot wait to see pictures! And we can't wait to hear from you and begin working on your best day ever!!! Get ahold of us pronto!

Here's to 2016. I have a feeling it's going to be pretty rockin'.

xoxo,
Kelsi
