I'm admittedly quite a bit late on this post. As you probably know, each year, Pantone names a color of the year, and then that color pops up everywhere. On clothing, on home decor, on walls, and of course, in weddings. Last year, it was radiant orchid, and the year before it was emerald, which are both colors that I love. This year's color of the year is marsala. Umm, why?! According to Pantone's executive director, "Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth." Makes sense. And I thought I was a color nerd.
It took a while to grow on me, which is why I'm just now getting around to posting about it! ;) I thought it was pretty hideous at first, but now that I've looked at plenty of marsala wedding inspiration, I'm sorta digging it! It's incredibly elegant and pairs gorgeously with blush, gray and shades of green.
From bridesmaids dresses to stationery and bouquets to bow ties, this color looks good on pretty much everything. While marsala is most appropriate for fall and winter weddings, it's gorgeous in spring and summer weddings in small doses. Here are my favorite marsala wedding details:
Are you into this color, or do you think it's kinda meh? The more I look at it, the more I like it... especially in bouquets! It's so stunning next to light pink. Love!
