Today's wedding is totally the opposite of all the springtime things I've been talking about lately! This wedding shows off fall in Arkansas at its finest. And while I'm totally 100% ready for spring to show up, I love this wedding and all its glorious fall details. These photos were taken by Jen Brazil Photography, and they're so pretty!
Cathryn and Tyler were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on November 1, 2014, which just happened to be one of those perfect fall days that's ideal for a wedding! "The weather was perfect during pictures and the ceremony," Cathryn said. "The sun was shining bright, there was still a good mix of green with a hint of the fall coming. Once the sun went down, yes it was cold, but thank goodness for indoor heaters."
Arkansas turns beautiful in November, and this sweet couple took advantage of the bright fall colors and used them throughout their wedding decor! Their color scheme was sunflower yellow, burnt orange and Razorback red, with chocolate brown and burlap accents. "Perfect for us who both grew up in the country and enjoy the outdoors," Cathryn said.
Wedding dresses with stories behind them are always extra special, and Cathryn's dress has a sweet little story! The dress, which was from David's Bridal, was her little sister's, and her sister wore it two years before Cathryn's wedding. How sweet is that?!
You know what else is awesome? A bride in plaid! Cathryn, you're stunning!
How great does this groom look, too?! I love this casual look for the guys... so handsome!
These two chose not to have bridesmaids and groomsmen. "We wanted a small, intimate wedding," Cathryn said. "I have three sisters who all have children, two of which were under one. My older niece and nephew were my flower girl and ring bearer." They sure are cute!
Speaking of cute, Cathryn and Tyler's first look was the cutest, sweetest thing. These two are obviously so in love! Precious.
Cathryn, if you ever need to be reminded of how much Tyler loves you, just look at this next picture and the way he looks at you!
One super fun detail from Cathryn and Tyler's wedding day was the '69 Chevy that Tyler rebuilt. They used it for a few photos and drove away in it at the end of the night!
Let's talk about Cathryn's beautiful, fall-inspired bouquet! She said it was one of her "favorite parts" of her wedding day, and I can see why! "It was vibrant bright colors (which I love!) of yellow, orange and red with burlap wrapped around the stems," Cathryn said. "Absolutely gorgeous!"
Cathryn and Tyler's ceremony was not only gorgeous, but it also included several special details that truly made this wedding their own. Cathryn said she and Tyler are both outdoorsy, so they wanted their decor to reflect their love of nature. Their aisle was lined with leaves and pumpkins filled with flowers. The altar was covered in stunning, colorful leaves... breathtakingly beautiful! It was also draped with burlap and had pumpkins at the bottom.
"We had a sand ceremony where we each used our favorite color to represent us," Cathryn said. She chose blue and Tyler chose red, and they also incorporated a third color to represent God in their marriage. "It was sand from St. George Island, FL, where Tyler proposed the previous summer." Isn't that the most special wedding detail ever?
What a kiss!
After the ceremony, these two lovebirds and their guests had a beautiful, fun, fall-inspired reception inside The Barn. Their tables were simple and rustic-chic, with white linens and burlap and lace runners. Their place settings were colorful, and the tables were finished off with beautiful floral arrangements, a few pumpkins and lace-wrapped mason jars. Pretty!
Their decor also included a couple tables filled with precious photos of the two of them throughout their relationship and engagement.
After their reception, Cathryn and Tyler had a good ol' sparkler exit (the best!) and headed out for a short honeymoon in Branson. They're going on a cruise to Cozumel and Progreso over spring break, which Cathryn said will be their big honeymoon!
Another detail that made their wedding uniquely theirs was the cake and cupcakes, which were funfetti! Tyler's groom's cake was also over-the-top amazing.
I asked Cathryn to tell us a little bit about how we did. Here's the super kind things she had to say!
"The staff was quick to help me and my photographer get all the photos we wanted, showed us The Barn and all decor before the ceremony so we could enjoy it before everyone showed up. I felt like I got to come and just enjoy the day. I didn't have to worry about any details because I knew that it would beautiful and taken care of. The staff was on top of the day, hard-working and always nice and friendly. It was everything I hoped it would be and so much more! I will recommend for anyone and everyone to get married there." - Cathryn
Cathryn and Tyler, we can't thank you enough for choosing us as your wedding venue! It was an honor to share your big day with you, and we wish y'all the very best! xoxoxoxo
Didn't y'all love this one?! That altar is one of my favorites, for sure.
