This past Friday was Kelsey + Gueorgui's fabulous wedding at The Barn! I blogged about their wedding consultation back in December, and also about their 30 day consultation last month. It was so fun for me to follow along with their planning process and really see this wedding come together! This was also my first wedding to attend at The Barn (other than my own, of course!) and my first to work at... and let me just say, these ladies work hard to pull off a wedding. It was so much fun, but also difficult and hot and sweaty... but I totally loved it!
Kelsey and Gueorgui's wedding was just lovely, and we're describing the theme as woodland/forest-chic/Shakespearean/English garden. Basically, it was like you walked into a forest full of fairies... except there were no fairies, because that would be tacky! In one word, it was magical.
This wedding was extra special, not only because it was unique and stunningly beautiful, but also because Gueorgui's family is from Bulgaria. The Bulgarian foods and traditions at this wedding were unlike anything we'd seen before, so it was really interesting! For example, they had a ring warming ceremony, in which each family member holds the couple's rings in their hands and says a quick blessing over them. Kelsey also had flower grandmas instead of flower girls... and it was seriously the cutest thing ever!
Some of my other favorite moments and details from this wedding: Kelsey walked down the aisle to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters," which was beautiful and so. dang. awesome. Their bouquets, altar flowers, and other floral decorations were so uniquely beautiful! They were mostly greenery (like, tons and tonssss of greenery) with white and pale yellow roses and peonies. It was very simple, but so, so pretty! They also had vintage books in muted colors in their decor, as well as beautiful, lush moss.
Another amazing thing from this wedding: their menu! They served a plated dinner, catered by Blue Willow Catering, of lamb medallions, Norwegian salmon, a few Bulgarian dishes, and delicious appetizers. They served a traditional Bulgarian liquor, which was a fun detail!
We haven't seen many of Kelsey and Gueorgui's wedding photos by Pictures by Katie, but I'll be sure to share them on the blog when we do! Until then, here are some of the photos I took of their ceremony and reception details. I'm definitely not a professional photographer, so y'all will have to bear with me here. ;)
I can't wait to show you the professional photos from this wedding! It was truly beautiful, and I loved getting to see the planning process. Our team works really hard, y'all! They are so talented, it just blows my mind.
