I'm head-over-heels for anything whimsical; things that are beautiful, but don't take themselves too seriously. I'm talking about fun details and pops of bright, gorgeous color, and it never hurts to throw in some glitter, either. I loooove a good whimsical wedding! They're always so romantic and dreamy to me, but they're also fun and have a laidback vibe. They aren't too serious, and they're always unbelievably pretty!
We've had several whimsical weddings at The Barn, as well as a few fun, whimsical styled shoots. Here are my absolute favorites!
Here's a sneak peek of our Magical Meadow styled shoot, which just happened last weekend. This shoot is my very favorite one our team has ever done! Trish, one of our fabulous interns, styled this shoot for her final at school. Seriously. The whimsical details from this shoot were stunning! From a huge peony bouquet to a pastel, floral dress and the prettiest drinks to that dessert table, every detail of this shoot was pure magic. I'll be showing you tons of photos from this shoot next week, as well as filling y'all in on Trish's inspiration, and you won't want to miss it!
Sujey + Jeffrey's planned elopement a few weeks ago was the epitome of whimsy! For planned elopements, our team asks the couple what overall theme and color palette they desire, and then they just run with it. Sujey loves bright colors and the precious movie Up, so having bright balloons at this wedding was a no-brainer! You've also got to see their precious naked cakes. This one just blows my mind.
Ani + Nathan's wedding was elegant and stunning, with a few whimsical details that stole the show. They had 1,000 handmade paper cranes hanging over the lawn, and it was amazing! Their decor was mostly white and blush, with brass details. The whole day was dreamy!
Both our Love is Pink and Hot Pink Kisses shoots were full of fun, whimsical details and so. much. amazing. color. A few highlights: whimsically rustic bouquets and floral arrangements, two stunning bridal gowns (a blush one and one that our team customized!), precious cakes, flower crowns, and a whole bunch of other bright and colorful details!
Hayley + Zach's wedding had some super sweet details... like sparkly shoes, a candy buffet, a sprinkle toss getaway, and a coral and peach color palette. The decor at this wedding was so fun! It was very lighthearted, and you guessed it... a little bit whimsical! :)
For mine + Richard's wedding, we really wanted to create a whimsical, romantic vibe. I didn't want our decor to be too serious, so we tried to get creative with our details! We painted my bike blush and glittery gold, had glittery dinosaurs (yep, we went there), and pom-poms hung over the lawn. It was perfect, and it was the best day ever. For reals.
You've probably noticed that most of our weddings and styled shoots that fit into the whimsical category had bright color palettes. This darker-colored winter shoot stands out from all of our pink weddings and shoots, but it's certainly just as whimsical and beautiful! Fake snow, hay bales, a cowhide, leopard print, and darker flowers and accents made this shoot extra magical.
Nikki + Scott's wedding is one of our most repinned and most talked about, and for good reason. This wedding had elegant, classic elements, but it was also creative, whimsical and fun. This couple chose sparkly, glittery, metallic details, with plenty of gorgeous blush flowers and details. From their stunning drink display to their precious pink candy buffet, every detail of this wedding was incredible.
Kortney + Dakota's vintage-inspired pastel wedding had a bit of a country vibe, as well as some gorgeous, fun details. Their balloon entrance into The Barn was so fun, and their flowers were sweet and whimsical. (Is it even possible for flowers to be whimsical? 'Cause I swear they were!) Their reception details were rustic and fun and so very pretty!
Ashley + Derrick's wedding was full of beautiful, fun, colorful details! A few of the best: this colorful, fun cake table, those flowers!!! (oh my goodness!), pretty pastel reception tables, vintage postcards instead of a guestbook, and a seriously dreamy altar. This one was incredible, y'all.
Y'all be sure to check the blog next week for more shots from our Magical Meadow shoot! I can't stop swooning over them! Have a fantastic weekend!
