I haven't mentioned this in a while, but I really do love writing this little ol' blog. Sometimes I'm like, do I seriously get paid to write about beautiful weddings and all things wedding-related?! Isn't that every girl's dream job?! (Maybe not, but sometimes I just about have to pinch myself.)
Sometimes I read through the blog's archives, as silly/cheesy/lame as that is. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but there is some pretty good stuff on this blog, y'all. Our team puts together the most ridiculously amazing, over-the-top, out of this world fabulous weddings, and I adore writing all about them, our sweet couples and their precious love stories.
Because I'm feeling a little sentimental (pregnancy problems), I want to share with you some of my favorite blog posts I've written! (Okay, maybe a bunch of my favorites.) I've come a long way (or at least a little way) since last September when I first started as The Barn's blogger. I've learned sooo much about weddings. And I've also learned a thing or two about blog design and how to convince people that I'm one tiny step above being an amateur. I'm still figuring this thing out, because I'm not the most technologically advanced person, but it sure has been fun! Here are my favorite blog posts I've written!
My very first blog was an introductory post telling about myself and my amazing wedding at The Barn. While I adore each wedding we do, of course my own was my favorite! It was the. best. day. everrrrr. I also listed my favorite things about getting married at The Barn. If you're torn on whether or not to choose this amazing place as your venue, read my list of reasons why I loved it!
My favorite blog posts to write are the ones about our real weddings at The Barn. I love reading each of our couples' stories and inspiration behind the themes and styles of their big days. My four personal favorite wedding posts? Emily + Casey, Samantha + Danny, Megan + Daniel, and Amanda + Brad. I not only loved each of these weddings themselves, but I also loved the stories these brides told me when they sent back their Barn Bride Questionnaires!
Each Monday, I share a whole bunch of gorgeous, fun wedding inspiration. I pick a different topic each week, and then I search through Pinterest, Loverly and a bunch of wedding blogs to find the prettiest inspiration that fits within each category. My favorite wedding inspiration posts? Creative guestbook ideas, photo booths, pretty furniture, and altars.
Back in November, I experienced my first styled shoot! It was our Native American Heritage shoot, and it was such a great experience for me. I learned a lot about all the hard work (and believe me when I say it's hard) that goes into these shoots. They are fun and incredibly rewarding, but these ladies work their tails off! I wrote about our inspiration behind the shoot and posted some behind-the-scenes photos here! For this post, I actually went to the library and read a bunch of nerdy books and articles about Yell County, Arkansas. ;)
Each week, I also try to write a post with wedding advice or tips for brides currently planning their weddings. I am by no means a wedding expert, but I'm working on it. ;) One of my favorite posts within this category was How I Spent Under $200 On My Wedding Invitations. The title of this post definitely gives away what the content is about, but if you're a bride on a budget, this is a must-read!
My favorite blog series is 10 Barn Weddings! I write these posts every other week (or at least once a month), and I love them, because they give me a chance to look back through alllll of our amazing weddings and pick 10 that fit within a certain category. My favorite 10 Barn Weddings post? Pink!
One of my favorite just-for-fun posts was Wedding Jams: Music for A Fun Reception. This post was kind of silly, but I had too much fun making these little playlists! Plus, I wrote this post from an AirBnb that I rented on an awesome vacation, so maybe that's why I have fond memories of it. ;)
I really do love this job, y'all! Thank you so much for following along. It warms my heart to know that you care about what a faux-wedding expert like me has to say. <3
