Wedding Inspiration: Fall Ceremony Ideas

It's officially mid-August, which means the start of fall is only a little more than five weeks away! I wanted to share this post from last fall, with plenty of inspiration for fall ceremonies. Fall weddings at The Barn are always out-of-this-world, and I can't wait for these next few months!

As I mentioned last Monday, I'll be sharing plenty of fall wedding inspiration each week until the beginning of fall, including fall-themed cakes, wedding fashion, color schemes and more. Last week, I shared some of my favorite ideas for gorgeous fall bouquets. This week, let's talk about ideas for fall wedding ceremonies!

While incorporating colorful leaves, plaid or orange pumpkins into your ceremony decor is always pretty, it's not a necessity. You can create a cozy fall vibe with plenty of other interesting decor items, like lots of candlelight, painted pumpkins (so pretty!), or by mixing traditional fall colors with bright colors or pastels. The bottom line is this: choose the color scheme/decor/style you like, not what is appropriate for the season. If you'd like your fall wedding to have a fall vibe, think about adding in some fall-inspired decor items, but you don't have to go overboard with those!

Here are some ideas I really love for fall wedding ceremonies!

MGB Photo, from Meagan + Alex's wedding at The Barn. Purple floral arrangements (with lots of texture!), logs lining the aisle, a stunning burlap altar & fallen leaves... this is one of my favorite fall weddings ever, hands down.

Brit + Co. I'm totally crazy over these fall altars, especially the one with all those gorgeous, rustic windows!

Tryston Hines Photography, from Lindsey + Matt's wedding. This wedding actually took place over the summer, but their ceremony entrance would be beautiful for a fall wedding, too! I can't wait to see this vintage doors + windows against a colorful, fall backdrop. :)

Danielle Davis Art/Photography, from Emily + Blake's wedding at The Barn. Burlap and chambray, barrels, logs and wooden crates... this wedding was perfect for fall, without a super fall-ish color scheme!

Green Wedding Shoes; WeddingBells. Both a rustic fireplace and simple hanging jars with candles are perfect backdrops for a fall ceremony.

Jen Brazil Photography, from Cathryn + Tyler's wedding at The Barn. This wedding's theme was 100% fall. Fall colors, fall leaves, pumpkins, burlap, a bride in plaid... it was fantastic!

The Natural Wedding Company; Xaaza Style. Aisles lined with candles + logs are simple, yet they make such a statement!

The Kindred Collective, from Jordon + Nick's wedding at The Barn. This wedding had the prettiest bouquets and floral arrangements (with lots of wheat!), cranberry accents and burlap throughout. These wooden crates with white mason jars full of flowers are some of my favorite fall decor items our team has done!

Brit + Co. Rustic, vintage doors as ceremony altars are just too pretty.

Miles Witt Boyer, from Lauren + Jack's wedding at The Barn. The aisle lined with lanterns, logs and gorgeous flowers made this dreamy ceremony very fall-appropriate.

Shingleur Photography, from Lindsy + Keith's wedding at The Barn. Pops of orange throughout their floral arrangements (like those two on the altar) made this wedding even more fall-ish!

Rustic Wedding Chic; PopSugar. Nothing says fall like chrysanthemums, pumpkins or a candlelit aisle.

JRowe Photography, from Jana + Robert's wedding at The Barn. This wedding had a classic black and ivory color scheme that would have been pretty for any season, but the addition of burlap and that dress (SWOON!!!) made it super perfect for fall.

Decozilla. This altar set-up might be a little bit overkill, but I love it anyway. Logs + romantic candlelight... simple and perfect for an evening ceremony!

Tryston Hines Photography, from Samantha + Dalton's wedding at The Barn. This wedding is proof that even blush pink can make sense during the fall. The addition of some gold leaves and burlap throughout their decor, as well as blankets for guests to snuggle up in during their ceremony, make their color scheme totally fall-appropriate... and pink looks so pretty with a backdrop of fall leaves!

I get a little more excited for fall with each of these posts, even though I'm still a little sad to say goodbye to summer!
