The wedding I get to share with y'all today took place just this past spring, and everything about this one was super fun! From the colors to the flowers and the menu, every detail of this wedding was unique and pretty and just really fun and fabulous. I've never actually met this couple, but just from their wedding photos, I'm pretty sure they're a good time! And they're obviously crazy for one another. :) Plus, I love this wedding even more, because it took place inside The Barn, and those are sometimes my favorite weddings of all! And when you see their altar, you'll know why this one was extra great!
These photos were taken by Erin Love and Jodie Alexander from Found Lovely Photos, and they are precious!
Sarah and Gordy were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on April 18, 2015. They chose to go with a country, rustic-chic theme, with petal pink and yellow as their colors. They used plenty of sunflowers and peonies, as well as burlap and lace! "The perfect country wedding colors, in my opinion," Sarah said. I would have to agree!
Sarah's beautiful bridal gown came from David's Bridal. How gorgeous does this lady look?! Her bridesmaids' faces when they first saw her in her dress... that's pretty much how we feel, too! Also, this bride wore her hair in a braid, and she wore boots. All about that!
Sarah's precious daughter and flower girl got to try her mama's dress on before the ceremony, and the photos from those moments are so sweet and precious!
Sarah's bridesmaids also wore dresses from David's Bridal, in the prettiest shade of pink. Sarah said it "worked out perfect since all of my bridesmaids were from out of state. All the same color, but each girl had a different style." Always a good idea! The groomsmen wore simple white shirts and khaki pants, and the groom wore khakis, a light pink shirt, white suspenders and a white bow tie. Judging by these next few photos, these people are obviously super fun to be around!
Their sweet little flower girl, Sarah's daughter, wore a cute yellow dress and a sunflower in her hair. These photos of her with her mom are adorable!
My favorite thing about this wedding was definitely the flowers. Sarah described them as "AHHHHH-mazing!!!!!" and I think she is correct! Their bouquets and floral arrangements included yellow sunflowers, pink peonies, white ranunculus, and pink tulips. It would never in a million years occur to me to pair those flowers together, but they look so good together. I LOVE these bouquets! They were also wrapped in burlap, which added the perfect rustic-chic feel.
Boots and bouquets... I always love these photos!
One of the sweetest moments from the day happened before the ceremony. Sarah and Gordy chose not to have a first look, but they still wanted to spend a few moments together before the ceremony, praying together and exchanging letters and gifts.
"I had a journal that I had been writing in for about 6-8 months prior to our wedding, and I had that placed in my hubby's suite, along with his favorite drinks (tonic water and gin) with some snacks for him and his boys," she said. "I loved making him tear up!"
As I mentioned, Sarah and Gordy were married inside The Barn, and it was nothing short of amazing. This log + candle + mason jar + floral altar is one of my favorites we've done! Major swoonage!!! Their aisle was also lined with wood discs and mason jars filled with floral arrangements that matched the bouquets.
When I asked Sarah what she would never forget about her wedding day, she said this: "Walking down the aisle and seeing my hubby there. I can't tell you enough just how gorgeous our 'backdrop' was at the altar. By far that was my favorite thing."
This groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time! Oh my! Precious.
After their ceremony, Sarah and Gordy had some gorgeous portraits taken in and around The Barn. These first two photos are so dreamy! Sorry y'all, but I couldn't narrow these photos down any more than this. They are all too pretty!
Their reception also took place in The Barn. The altar decor was rearranged, and their sweetheart table was put behind it, complete with a burlap Mr. & Mrs. banner. The reception tables had ivory linens, burlap and lace runners, and mason jars full of sunflowers and peonies. Their place settings were simple, with white plates and silverware in burlap holders. Their dinner menu was also fun and unique! They had a roasted pig (like, a whole pig) and plenty of delicious sides and salads.
Another of Sarah's favorite details from her wedding day: "My sister and her two best friends did my and Gordy's first dance (Start of Something Good by Daughtry)... having them there and making it sound so good and putting their own twist on it was super special to us."
Their favors were also fun and unique! They wrapped mason jars in burlap, labeled each jar, and filled them with all kinds of trail mix goodies: peanuts, Chex, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, personalized M&Ms, pretzels, mini marshmallows and more. They had mini paper bags for their guests to scoop everything into. "We got really good feedback from our guests with the trail mix bar," Sarah said. This is one of our favorite favor ideas!
Sarah and Gordy are both in the military, and since taking time off can be difficult, they haven't yet gone on a honeymoon. They're planning on going to the Bahamas on a 7-10 day cruise in the near future!
And finally, as I do with all of our brides, I asked Sarah to let us know how we did. Here's what this sweet lady had to say! "The staff at BATOR is phenomenal!!!! The details, the planning, the flowers, the food, the decorations…. Every single bit of it was amazing. I don’t have the words to describe just how perfect it was and how thankful I am that I found The Barn. The staff honestly make you feel as though you are the most important person that day and they do everything they can to make you feel that way too. It was a flawless ceremony and a flawless reception and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out on our special day!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!"
Sarah and Gordy, thank you so much for choosing us as your wedding venue! Your wedding was amazing, and it was an honor to get to be a part of it! We hope you get to go on the best honeymoon ever very soon! xoxoxoxo
Y'all... Heart eyes!!! That's about all I have to say about this wedding. It was magical, and I am obsessed with it. Sunflowers + peonies forever!
