2016 Wedding Recap: Part One

Y'all, our 2016 wedding season was one for the books! Seriously, it may have been our best one yet! We had SO many great weddings this year. We covered every style, every color palette (purple was definitely the it color of 2016), created so many unforgettable details, and had the best couples EVER. Every Friday in December, I'll be recapping a few weddings from the past year. If you missed any of these the first time around, now's your chance to get all caught up!

We're sad to see ya go, 2016. But bring it on, 2017!!!

Tara + Casey had the sweetest summer wedding this past June! Their theme was timeless and classic, but they also had several unique, modern touches that kept it from feeling too traditional. They chose shades of blue, ivory and gold for their color palette, and my goodness, was it pretty! They had one of my favorite altars of the year, which is saying a lot, because have you seen some of our altars from this year?! They also had some really adorable vintage book details and the most amazing marbled blue cake... and about a million other details that can't be missed! One of my faves of the year, for sure.

When a couple requests a wine themed wedding, you know it's gonna be good! Holly + Caleb were married in September, and their marsala and ivory wedding was elegant and so gorgeous. I especially loved their altar (those lanterns!), ALL the flowers, Holly's dress, and their hanging pallet drink display. They also had the prettiest cake, beautiful reception tables, and the sweetest aisle details!

I love a pale pink wedding just as much as the next girl, but a pretty punch colored wedding sure makes my heart flutter! Megan + Drew's bright, rustic chic summer wedding was full of bright florals and fun, summery details. "I wanted something bright and fun, but still simple and classy!" Megan said, and that's just what they ended up with! Things to love: punchy pink bridesmaids' dresses, the prettiest bridal gown everrrr, bright colored reception details, lush colorful florals (with succulents!), a burlap altar, and well, literally every other perfect detail. This one was GOOD. I feel warmer just looking at it. ;)

Each year, we have at least one wedding that breaks the internet, and Courtney + Matt's wedding was that one for 2016! It was featured on Wedding Chicks, blew up Pinterest, and was one of our most liked on Facebook and Instagram. Their purple, Tiffany blue and silver color palette was perfect for their bohemian chic theme. There were flower crowns, beautiful bridesmaids' dresses in two shades of purple, amazing purple flowers, and boho-chic details galore! (Really, tonssss of boho chic goodness throughout their decor!) We'll love this one forever and ever.

Less can certainly be more, and Brandi + Rey's pretty springtime wedding was proof! This one was casually elegant, with a unique burgundy and blue color palette and romantic springtime vibes. I'm still loving Brandi's casual (but beautiful and amazing!) bridal gown, the rich colored florals, mismatched bridesmaids' dresses (that fit the color scheme perfectly), and their gorgeous naked cake.
