I'm so excited to share this pretty fall wedding with y'all! This wedding was extra special, because the bride not only gained a husband, but also a son... I love how this sweet couple shared every part of their day with him, from their first look to their ceremony. There was even a proposal at this couple's reception! (Don't worry, the bride was totally okay with it! She helped coordinate the whole thing. ;) SO MUCH LOVE in this wedding, y'all. The Barn is soooo pretty in November, and it was the perfect backdrop for Hatley + Charles' big day. You will adore this couple and all their amazing fall details!
Lance and Kathryn Shingleur from Shingleur Photography are two of our absolute fave photographers, and they captured Hatley and Charles' wedding day so perfectly. Can't wait for y'all to see all the prettiness!
Hatley and Charles were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on November 5, 2016. Their decor was rustic, and they chose fall-themed details and colors. "It was Charles and I's absolute favorite time of year," Hatley said. "I wanted it to look very rustic and natural, with the leaves and trees pulling everything together. It was perfect and exactly what we both wanted!"
Hatley's bridal gown (from David's Bridal) was stunning and unique! She chose a long-sleeved dress (we rarely see these, but they are always AMAZING!) with the most gorgeous scalloped detailing. And look at that sash! My goodness. Hatley, you are such a beautiful bride!
The bridesmaids wore floor-length dresses, also from David's Bridal, and I loved the rich red, the gorgeous draping, and the lace! The guys wore black slacks, white shirts, gray vests and red ties. There were also some cute, tiny attendants in this bridal party. :) They all looked perfect for a rustic fall wedding!
Hatley's bouquets and florals were filled with bright fall colors, thistle and wheat! The perfect fall florals! She also carried a strand of pearls with a locket, containing her grandparents' pictures. Such a sweet, special detail!
"Both of my bouquets were beautiful!!!!" she said. "As well as the bridesmaids' bouquets. I loved the thistle, and the colors were perfect. LOVED THEM!"
Hatley and Charles included Charles' son, Michael Blaze, in every part of their big day, which made it even more special! Both guys got to do a first look with Hatley, and she gave her new son a necklace engraved with, "Marriage made you my family, love made you my son." This little family is precious! One of my favorite first looks ever!
I don't even know where to begin with Hatley and Charles' ceremony decor! They had a rustic altar made from pallets and rusty tin, topped with hanging florals in beautiful fall colors. Their aisle was lined with shepherds hooks, with fabric draped across them down the aisle. There were also buckets full of flowers, and the prettiest petals down the center of the aisle. Hatley said their gorgeous, unique altar was her favorite detail of the day!
"It was definitely a blur, but I'll always remember the little things like how beautiful the altar was, the rose petals down the center aisle, our first dance, and the father daughter dance," she said.
One thing Hatley said she would always remember about her wedding day: "The look on Charles' face when I walked down the aisle. He isn't one to get very emotional, but he definitely was. I've never felt so much love. And then of course, Michael Blaze, he said he hadn't ever cried at a wedding or seen a wedding that beautiful. It was such a special moment!"
Some of the coolest, most personal details from Hatley and Charles' wedding were their music choices! Hatley walked down the aisle to "Sweet Child Of Mine," and it was awesome!
Cutest family ever!!!
The newlyweds started their reception with a cocktail hour on the lawn with their guests. Then they moved into The Barn for a beautiful, rustic fall reception! One of Hatley's favorite memories from the day was "walking into The Barn to see all of the decorations and decor," she said. "It was all so breathtaking. My favorite parts were the location and the service. It was perfect, absolutely beautiful. Not to mention that I don't think it would have been as special as it was without the ladies at The Barn. You guys took so much stress away from the entire process."
Even our food is pretty! ;)
Fancy chairs are always some of the most fun details ever!
We've been loving the white cake trend lately! Hatley and Charles' cake was simple, but rustic, with pretty fall florals and the cutest pine cone bride and groom cake toppers (another of Hatley's favorite details of the day!). They also served their guests some delicious, adorable mini pies!
Remember how I told you there was a proposal at Hatley and Charles' reception?! Well, here's how Operation Bridesmaid went down. During her bouquet toss, instead of tossing her bouquet, Hatley walked over and handed it to her sister... and of course everyone (including her sister) was like WHAT?! Then Hatley's sister's boyfriend came over, got down on one knee and proposed! Next Barn couple?! Wink, wink!
"I loved that I was able to help and be apart of such a special moment for her, Alex and Baby E!" Hatley said. "It meant a lot for both Charles and I. Love grows!"
The rest of the night was filled with fun and dancing! Hatley and Charles gave their guests personalized koozies for favors, and they also had some fun personalized silly string bottles for their getaway. It was the coolest getaway EVER!
After their amazing getaway, Hatley and Charles headed off to Colorado for their honeymoon! "We stayed in Denver and traveled all around Colorado," Hatley said. "Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Estes Park, etc. Being a tourist is fun!"
Congratulations, Hatley and Charles! We LOVED your gorgeous fall wedding, and we're pretty pumped that we got to plan it with you! We wish your little family the absolute best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
