On this Throwback Thursday, let's throw it back almost three years to the spring of 2013. (Who else is having a hard time believing that 2013 was three years ago?! Whew!) Let me just say... when I saw this wedding back then, I fell in love with The Barn and could not wait for it to be my wedding venue! This wedding provided some of the inspiration for my own wedding, and it's still one of my favorites. This couple was super fashionable, so obviously their details were impeccable, including 1,000 paper cranes hanging over the game lawn. What a memorable detail those were!
Ani + Nathan were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on May 18, 2013. Ani wanted her color palette to be neutral and classic, yet eclectic. They chose a white, ivory and pale blush color scheme with brass accents, and their decor was simple, elegant and incredibly chic.
As with the rest of her details, Ani's dress was simple, classic and chic. The bridesmaids wore casual dresses with the prettiest belts and nude shoes. Ani carried a white and light blush bouquet, which was very simple but also totally lush and stunning. The bridesmaids carried baby's breath bouquets, and all three bouquets were tied with a long, trailing ribbon - so pretty! Nathan wore a baby's breath boutonniere with a blush bow tie. We love this sweet, Southern look!
Ani and Nathan's ceremony decor was minimalistic, and it had a dreamy, romantic, airy vibe. The chairs had trailing ivory ties, which felt eclectic yet flowy and soft. The altar was draped with lush white organza and included baby's breath tie backs and a crystal chandelier. It was all white-on-white, which made it neutral, classic and completely timeless. The aisle was lined with baby's breath in clear glass vases, and log discs with rose petals and candles.
They had a fun, unique guestbook - a globe, perfect for couples who love to travel! After their guests signed the globe, they grabbed a cone filled with rose petals. As Ani and Nathan walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, their guests showered them with the petals, which made for such a romantic grand exit!
I just lovelovelove the portraits taken of Ani and Nathan after their ceremony. What a gorgeous, romantic wedding this was, and what pretty people these two are!
One of the most incredible details of this wedding (and one of our most epic details ever, honestly) was the 1,000 paper crane display hung over the game lawn. Ani and Nathan's guests will never forget that... and we won't either!
According to Origamihara, "Folding 1,000 origami cranes is truly a labor of love. Tradition holds that the bride who finishes this task before her wedding day will be richly rewarded with a good and happy marriage. Paying homage to the majestic crane, which mates for life and is said to live one thousand years, the bride ensures her own good fortune." What a fun, unique, show-stopping detail!
Ani and Nathan's reception tables were the other highlight from their wedding. Ani had a vision for her reception tables - long, classic white and ivory linens and other details, with touches of brass. She brought some of her own brass candlesticks to mix in with our collection, and it made such a beautiful, stunning statement inside The Barn. She had simple white and gold place settings. There were beautiful, mismatched milk glass and clear vases with single blooms, brass candlesticks, baby's breath and small arrangements down the center of the tables. I am still swooning over these reception tables!
Ani and Nathan had a naked cake, even before naked cakes were super trendy. There was cheesecake between the layers of cake, and it was accented with white flowers and baby's breath! Gorgeous and delish! Their dinner menu was also unique. Gluten free menu options were a necessity, so they chose roast beef, chicken pesto, zucchini and squash, salad, and a mashed potato bar.
A couple more fun details were their signature cocktails, which were named after their dogs, Frank and Tucker. The Frank was a whiskey lemonade cocktail, and The Tucker was a mix of vodka, strawberry vodka, and Sprite. Here are Ani and Nathan with their dogs during their engagement session... And I'm including a few extras, because this was seriously the prettiest engagement session ever. You've got to check out more here.
The rest of their reception was full of fun traditions: first dances, cake cutting, a bouquet and garter toss, and partying with their guests - who came to The Barn from all over twelve states!
Ani and Nathan had a unique grand exit at the end of the evening... Their guests sent them off with a massive display of wish lanterns! It was gorgeous, but sadly those are now banned in Arkansas. Bummer!
Ani and Nathan, we LOVED your eclectic, chic, stunning wedding! Y'all are still blowing up Pinterest, and we totally know why! We wish y'all the best! xoxoxoxoxo
Seeee why I adore this wedding, y'all?! Nothing compares to those reception tables, or the 1,000 paper crane display!
