This wedding will most likely look familiar to all you regular Barn Blog readers... I have shared photos from this wedding too many times to count. Oops! This wedding is absolutely one of my favorites. It was a little bit whimsical, glam and totally dreamy. Every detail was impeccable, including the bride's pink gown (seriously!), the gorgeous florals, the unique color palette, and every little detail in between.
Katie and Alan were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on May 2, 2015. We see a lot of blush and gold weddings at The Barn, but Katie and Alan added in emerald touches, which was unique and beautiful. "The colors matched my dress and engagement ring," Katie said. Their theme was glam-meets-rustic, and it created such a whimsical vibe. "I just really like sequins/gold mixed with a little bit of country," she said.
Before we go any further, we have to talk about this jaw-dropping bridal gown! Katie bought her White by Vera Wang dress at David's Bridal. This. Dress. Is. Amazing. I lovelovelove the champagne + blush, and the bow detail is gorgeous. I could share all the photos from Katie's bridal session, I love them so! But here are just a few, and you can check out more here. :) What a beautiful, classy bride this lady is! Her hair and makeup are just as perfect as her dress!
Katie's bridesmaids' strapless champagne dresses also came from David's Bridal. I love how these dresses are a little bit country, but also classic and chic. These girls also wore boots! Alan wore a tan suit and his groomsmen wore tan pants, white shirts and mismatched ties - timeless and fun!
One of the highlights of this wedding was Katie's pink rose and peony bouquet! It also had protea, ranunculus, lots of texture and greenery, and a gold ribbon. "The florist nailed it," Katie said. "It was a work of art but surprisingly heavy, like basically it could have been a weapon." ;) The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of Katie's bouquet. So much floral goodness!
Katie and Alan had one of the sweetest, dreamiest first looks ever. I guess any photos with a dress like Katie's are going to be romantic and dreamy though, right?! These portraits could not be any prettier. The one of Katie's bouquet with the "Love Up Ahead" sign is maaaaybe my favorite photo ever taken at The Barn!
"I actually remember a lot about my wedding, but my favorite moment is the first look," Katie said. "It was the only part I got nervous about. I remember walking up to him and tapping him on the back and seeing his face. It was the best."
Katie and Alan's ceremony decor was glam, a little bit rustic, and so very pretty. The aisle was lined with wire sconces full of flowers. And the atlar! It was ahhhh-mazing. Katie said it was her favorite detail of the day, and I'm sure you can see why! "It rocked," she said. "So many pretty flowers and that white-sequined fabric. Yes and yes."
Their ceremony was sweet and beautiful, and their first kiss picture is a dream! Katie walked down the aisle to a song by The Beatles, and she and Alan also shared their first dance and grand exit to Beatles songs.
Our lawn is one of my favorite spots at The Barn, and it looked especially pretty for Katie and Alan's cocktail hour. Their tables had gold sequined tablecloths and jars filled with flowers that matched the bouquets. They also used our fab gold sequined bar!
Their reception decor was glam and a little bit whimsical, which was magical with the sparkling chandeliers inside The Barn. It included sparkly chevron table runners, ivory and gold place settings, mismatched vintage green and gold glassware, and flowers in mercury glass vases and clear vases. There was also plenty of candlelight - lovely and romantic!
Another highlight from their reception was their incredible cake! The chalkboard tier and the flowers were stunning. TheCakePlace killed it with this one!
Katie and Alan shared their first dance to a song by The Beatles. They also had a father-daughter dance and a mother-son dance, and then they had a great time celebrating with their loved ones! When the reception was over, their guests threw candy sprinkles and flower petals as they exited The Barn. They chose to do a "staycation" rather than a honeymoon. What a sweet idea!
Katie had some really sweet things to say about her experience at The Barn! "The Barn is the best," she said. "I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have a fairytale wedding without breaking the bank. Even if you did have a big budget, I would still recommend The Barn. It was so easy, and I loved every second of my experience. I received so many compliments about the day of. People raved about how pretty it was. I’m a lucky girl."
Katie, we're the lucky ones! Thank y'all so much for choosing The Barn as your wedding venue! We LOVED your wedding! xoxoxoxoxoxo
Heart eyes foreverrrrrr. I love this wedding!
