The wedding I get to share with y'all today is so, so sweet. The bride and groom are absolutely precious. Melody is Lesleigh's aunt (Lesleigh is the owner of The Barn). She's in her early 50s, and she had been waiting for this special day for her entire life, which made it even sweeter! Everything about this small, intimate wedding was truly heartwarming. The story behind their adorable theme is a bit of a tearjerker, so don't say I didn't warn you. ;)
Manda Standridge from Photos by Manda captured this celebration so perfectly! (She also did Melody's gorgeous makeup.) I know y'all are going to love this one!
Melody and Brett were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 28, 2015. Their date was significant; it was her late mother's birthday! The theme of their wedding was super special; they chose a red and blue color scheme, because he loved red and she loved blue. And their decor was full of colorful, beautiful butterflies! They accented with colors that are naturally found on butterflies, like oranges, yellows and greens, which made for the perfect fall palette.
"The butterfly theme came from Melody's mother," Lesleigh said. "Melody's mother was killed in an automobile accident in 1996. She loved butterflies, especially blue butterflies. After her passing, blue butterflies seem to always be nearby the family. It makes them feel her presence, so incorporating butterflies was the perfect addition to their decor and flowers."
Our team made sure there were beautiful blue butterflies all throughout Melody and Brett's decor, and it was definitely one of the sweetest weddings we've ever done! The butterfly theme started with these fun invitations!
Melody's lovely dress, which was from Formal Affairs, was a one-piece dress with a satin long-sleeved cropped jacket. It was actually a bridesmaids dress that she and Lesleigh ordered in winter white. Melody, you are a stunning bride!
Melody and Brett's pup, Lucy, was also a part of their wedding! In fact, Melody said it was her favorite part of the day! Love this furry little flower girl. :)
Melody's bouquet was full of gorgeous color, and it was certainly unique. Melody lost use of the left side of her body as a result of her treatments for spinal meningitis. She has no grip in her left arm, so our team designed her a beautiful hanging bouquet that she could drape over her arm. Along with her dad's boutonniere, her bouquet was adorned with a pretty blue butterfly!
Melody and Brett decided to have a first look before their ceremony. The photos from those moments are romantic and incredibly precious! These two clearly adore each other!
Melody and Brett's ceremony decor was full of colors and, of course, beautiful butterflies everywhere! Their aisle was lined with logs topped with colorful floral arrangements and candles. They had a burlap altar with more beautiful, colorful florals. One of the most special details of all was a photo of Melody's mother, with a candle and a blue butterfly.
Kolton (Lesleigh's son) escorted Lucy down the aisle before Melody walked down the aisle to "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis. Melody and Brett both love Elvis, so they made their exit from their ceremony to "Burning Love." Their ceremony was romantic, intimate and full of love. "It was a day I had waited on for 50 years," Melody said.
That is one happy groom. :)
After saying their I do's, Melody and Brett and their guests made their way into The Barn for a colorful, rustic chic reception full of sweet details and butterflies! Their tables included blue linens, red and white place settings, vintage drinkware, blue and white mason jars, wire vases, gold butterfly vases, small colorful floral arrangements and candles. They also had a sweetheart table with beautiful floral arrangements, mason jars and gold butterfly vases. They served their favorite sodas in vintage bottles, which was such a fun detail!
Even their cake, made by theCakePlace, incorporated butterflies! The top tier was gold, and the bottom had the most beautiful, hand-painted butterflies in fun colors. And those flowers... gorgeous!
Melody and Brett shared their first dance to "Love Me Tender." They cut their cake and had a fun time with their loved ones! Then they made their grand, sparkly exit. :) Their wedding day was truly beautiful; it was sweet and intimate and the best celebration of their love!
Melody and Brett, we loved planning your big day with you!!! It was such a special day, and we wish y'all the very best! xoxoxoxo
Isn't this wedding adorable? I love love loved their butterfly theme, and I always love a bold color palette! Plus, these two are just precious.
