Ashley + Ivan's Elegant Neutral Wedding

If you've been following The Barn Blog or our Facebook page for very long, this wedding will undoubtedly look familiar to you! We've shown this one off many, many times, because every single detail was absolutely stunning! This gorgeous couple is so in love, and their day was incredibly romantic and dreamy. The florals were impeccable, the altar was unforgettable, the Puerto Rican-inspired details were fabulous, the party was rocking, and the bride wore two stunning gowns! There was so much to love about this gorgeous wedding!

These photos by Meredith Melody Photography are seriously the best. Some of my favorites, for sure! She perfectly captured all the special moment's of this sweet couple's big day, as well as all the details. This one was truly unforgettable!

Ashley and Ivan were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on May 4, 2014. Their color palette included a neutral, timeless combination of ivory, tan, gold and pale peach. "I'm not a fan of color schemes when it comes to weddings," Ashley said. "I find when you use bold colors in a wedding, they can sometimes overpower the event." We loved her decision to go with such a simple color scheme! Their wedding decor and florals were elegant, timeless, and chic, with Latin flair popping up throughout the details.

Ashley and Ivan's wedding film by Nathan Willis Wedding Films is so, so beautiful. I love how this video captures the big moments of their special day, as well as all the fun that happened at their reception. It shows all the pretty details and really shares what it's like to attend a wedding at (or get married at) The Barn. It truly is a magical place, y'all!

Before we go any further, I have to share this sneak peek of just a few of the fabulous details from Ashley and Ivan's ceremony and reception! The floral F on the hay bale is one of my favorite details we've ever done... It may be a minor detail, but sure added a ton of pretty! Before their wedding day even happened, Ashley and Ivan set the tone for their wedding with their gorgeous, elegant laser-cut invitation suite... some of the most beautiful invitations ever! Their florals and altar were over the top, and Ashley's ring couldn't be any more stunning!

As I mentioned, Ashley wore two stunning gowns on her wedding day! She wore a more traditional lace gown for her ceremony. It was from Low's Bridal, and it had the most beautiful neckline and belt. It had a gorgeous silhouette that was just made for this lady, and she wore the loveliest veil I have ever seen! For the reception, she changed into a party dress with a sparkly top and a fun, flowy skirt! I LOVE this photo of her in it from her bridal session! Ashley, you are the most stunning bride ever.

Ashley and Ivan's bridal party was just too pretty! I loooove the shape and color of these bridesmaids' dresses, which came from Rendezvous. The gray suits looked fantastic, too! Ashley and Ivan also had four very special members of their bridal party - they each have two of their own kids (and now they have twins!). What a gorgeous family!

One of the highlights from Ashley and Ivan's wedding: definitely those FLOWERS! Oh my goodness! The bouquets and floral arrangements were timeless, traditional and elegant, with peonies and peach garden roses. They were lush and over-the-top. "MY BOUQUET (I hope you can feel the enthusiasm)... Timeless, sweet and delicate," Ashley said. "I felt as though I was walking down the aisle with the world's most beautiful flowers all in my two hands. I wouldn't change one thing about my bouquets."

Ashley and Ivan had probably the world's most romantic first look. These two are crazy about each other, and these photos make it very clear! I don't think I've ever seen a bride who looks happier or more relaxed! These two look like they have a ton of fun together. <3

"There were so many memorable things in our wedding, but the one that stands out the most would have to be when my husband and I did the first look with each other," Ashley said. "We were alone and it just made the day 'real' for us. In other words, our wedding wasn't a dream, it was a dream come true."

That veils! SO MANY heart eyes!!!

Ashley and Ivan's ceremony decor was out of this world. Their altar was a dream! It was covered (literally covered) in ivory and peach flowers. "How can I pick out my favorite detail when we had so many breathtaking details!" Ashley said. "If I HAVE to pick just one, it would have to be my altar which was covered in flowers. When I say covered, I mean they had to make special panels covered in flowers and piece the whole thing together, and the definition of beauty." This altar was a little intense, but it was totally worth it!

The altar was also draped with lace and included hanging crystals. The aisle was lined with wire sconces filled with flowers. This ceremony couldn't have been more romantic and dreamy!

It seems dangerous to use the word perfect when describing a wedding (not to mention my own) with all of the things that could have went wrong and all of the hiccups along the way, but I have to admit looking back the only word I can find to capture my feelings about our wedding would be... perfect.

The only thing more romantic than their first look photos? The portraits of these two after the ceremony. Whew! These two are stunning.

Ashley and Ivan's ceremony was full of gorgeous, elegant, fabulous details. "My husband is Puerto Rican and I am of Spanish descent," Ashley said. "We wanted to make sure that our cultures were both worked into the wedding without turning it into a literal fiesta! Lesleigh suggested that we use amber vintage glassware and papel picado flags to add some old world Spanish charm (which is exactly what it did). Seriously, our reception could have been a 1950s classic movie!"

Their tables included ivory linens, burlap and lace runners, elegant ivory place settings with gold glitter napkin rings, mismatched vintage amber glassware, clear vases and gold candelabras topped with gorgeous floral arrangements, and lace chair ties. There were festive white papel picado hanging over the tables, which couldn't have been prettier with the lights and draping inside The Barn. They had a sweetheart table with a white ruffled tablecloth, which matched the tablecloths on the lawn at their cocktail hour.

Ashley and Ivan's wedding cake was simply elegant. It was a light peach color with lace details and flowers. I love their cake topper - a gold topper customized with their last name!

Ashley and Ivan also had a cigar bar and a really fun wedding favor: tiny jars filled with cayenne! "1. I put cayenne in EVERYTHING I cook and 2. Our love is CALIENTE!" Ashley said. They couldn't have picked a more fitting favor to give their guests!

This reception was SERIOUSLY unforgettable. Ashley and Ivan had a Cuban-Fusion band that kept the party going wayyyyy into the night. There was salsa dancing and the sweetest first dances. Ashley and Ivan's first dance was precious and such a gorgeous representation of their love. During Ashley's dance with her stepfather, he pulled out a photo of Ashley with her dad, so she could share her dance with him, too. Literally the sweetest.

I asked Ashley to tell me her favorite thing about getting married at The Barn, and she said, "The TEAM!"

"I had a couple super fun meetings with the team and a couple texts to Lesleigh, and poof, my dream wedding was created!" she said. "I cannot say enough about the team at The Barn! I hear horror stories from SOOOOO many brides who say their wedding literally turned into a nightmare and they couldn't wait for the day to be over because of how much stress they were under with all the planning. I had not one ounce of stress during the entire process! And a no stress wedding/wedding planning is priceless, my friends! If there was one thing I could recommend to a bride, it would be to hire a wedding planner!"

At the end of the party, Ashley and Ivan shared their grand sparkler exit, and they ran away for a fun, unique honeymoon! "We spent a few days in a private cabin at Mount Magazine with our closest friends (they rented their own cabins of course)," she said. "I highly recommend inviting your best buds to come celebrate your honeymoon with you. It definitely made it more fun! I mean my husband and I totally love each other, but how long can you just be in a cabin all alone without getting a little 'cabin fever.'" Ha! What an awesome couple!

As always, I asked Ashley for a little bit of feedback on her experience at The Barn and with our team! "I could have had my wedding anywhere (literally my husband's words), but we chose The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch," she said. "The Barn's reputation proceeds itself and they can literally create any style of wedding! We were so excited to not have our wedding inside a stuffy country club or some cold event center! We wouldn't change having our wedding at The Barn for anything in the world."

Ashley and Ivan, it was a PLEASURE to be your wedding venue! We couldn't have loved your big day any more! It was truly unforgettable, for us and for your guests! We wish y'all the absolute best life has to offer! xoxoxoxoxoxo
