Some of the most magical weddings happen during early spring, when the skies are blue and colorful blooms are just beginning to make their appearance all around The Barn. Jessica and James were married just over a month ago, and their wedding was incredibly romantic and beautiful. Between the florals (wait til y'all see this bridal bouquet!), the enormous, fabulous bridal party, and all the romantic details, there was a lot to love about this wedding!
The Kindred Collective beautifully captured Jessica and James' wedding through photos and video, and I know y'all are going to be majorly swooning over this pretty springtime wedding!
Jessica and James were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on March 19, 2016. Their color palette was full of pretty pinks and greens, which were perfect for early springtime! Jessica simply defined their theme as "romance." "We decided on the theme of romance because it is so classic and beautiful," she said. "No matter what decade or how much things change, romance is simply timeless."
You can see all the classic, timeless, beautiful romantic details in Jessica and James' wedding video here! It beautifully displays all their details, as well as the big moments of their wedding day.
Jessica's bridal gown came from Always and Forever, and it's one of my favorites! The lace details on this dress, plus the neckline and train were so, sooo gorgeous on this lady! Jessica, you are a stunning bride!
Jessica's lush, timeless cascading bouquet was absolutely one of the highlights of their wedding! It was full of pink and ivory roses, air plants, and tons of glorious greenery. "I HAD to go with the cascading bouquet!" she said. "I have been obsessed with the cascade bouquet ever since I saw one of The Barn brides have one. It's so unique and fit perfectly with our theme."
Jessica had thirteen beautiful bridesmaids (probably our largest bridal party ever!), who wore green and pink dresses, also from Always and Forever. I can't get over how pretty this bridal party was! The bridesmaids' dresses were timeless and classic, and the groom and his guys also wore classic, timeless black tuxes. The flower girls in white tutus and flower crowns were absolutely precious!
Jessica had a first look with her bridesmaids, and we think that's an absolute must! These girls' reactions were so fun and so sweet!
Jessica and James had probably the most romantic first look ever. With an altar as romantic and dreamy as this one as the backdrop and two gorgeous people who are madly in love, how could it have not been perfect?!
Jessica and James' ceremony decor was romantic, timeless and oh so dreamy! Their altar was draped with organza and covered in greenery and floral arrangements that matched Jessica's bouquet. They had a pink flower petal design down their aisle. They used our antique doors at the entrance of their reception, and there were small bouquets hanging on the doors.
"We had a non-traditional guestbook for our friends and family to sign," Jessica said. "We had a canvas made with a painted tree on it. Guests would dip their thumb in ink and make 'leaves' with their thumb print. They would then sign their name by their thumb print! I also had carnations set out for all my Phi Mu sisters to have to signify their special bond with me."
"I'll always remember how the sun popped up from behind the clouds as soon as our wedding started," Jessica said. "It was a little chilly that day and the wind was very strong. I was worried we would all freeze because the sun wasn't out, and everyone would be silently cursing me for having an outside wedding. Right before I walked down the aisle, the sun came out and gave us the most beautiful light! It was like God was shining the sun down on all of us as a reminder of his presence in every aspect of our lives - including our wedding day."
What a beautiful memory of one of the biggest moments of this couple's lives!
These little wedding attendants are too cute!
Jessica and James' reception was also full of timeless, romantic details. Their table decor included ruffled runners, vintage green and amber glassware, clear vases topped with florals, mercury glass vases filled with single blooms, and blush, silver and white place settings. They had the sweetest sweetheart table with a pink ruffly backdrop. Jessica's favorite detail of the day was the memory table at their reception, which honored she and James' loved ones.
Jessica and James went with a classic column cake, and it was (just like every other detail of their wedding day) timeless and so very pretty (and delish)! I love the monogram, flowers, and that sweet gold calligraphy topper! Also, the ruffles on the tablecloth... I can't get enough of all the ruffles at this wedding!
For favors, Jessica and James gave their guests packets of flower seeds. They were displayed adorably in a wheelbarrow with a "take one and watch love grow" sign!
Jessica's favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was "getting to work with the staff and especially my wedding planner Victoria!"
"The whole staff handled every single detail about my day and made me feel so special," she said. "I never had to worry about a single detail about my wedding because The Barn took care of my every need! It was nice to be able to enjoy planning my wedding and remain stress free."
After sharing their first dance as husband and wife, cutting their cake, tossing their bouquet and garter, and having the best time with their friends and family, Jessica and James shared a romantic flower petal exit from The Barn and left for their honeymoon! "We went to Oahu, Hawaii for our honeymoon!" Jessica said. "The island was absolutely gorgeous, and it was the perfect way to start off our lives as husband and wife. We soaked up the sun on the beach, adventured onto the Twin Islands, spent a day snorkeling over a reef, and so much more!" That sounds like the best way to begin a new life together!
Jessica and James, we can't thank you enough for allowing us to plan your romantic, gorgeous wedding with you! It was our pleasure! We wish y'all the absolute best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Eep, I love this wedding so. I've never really thought of "romance" as a wedding theme, but these two rocked it through every single detail! Has there ever been a more romantic wedding?! Doubt it. ;)
