There's nothing quite as sweet as a summertime wedding... especially when it has a rustic theme, family heirlooms for details, and a precious couple who are oh, so in love! For this week's Throwback Thursday, we're throwing it back to the summer of 2014. This wedding had some unique, fun, summery details, lots of pretty colors, and plenty of rustic decor! We LOVED their big day... just wait until you see their reception! These photos by Portraits by Melanie are such a good representation of this sweet wedding!
Amanda and Tyler were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on June 14, 2014. Amanda described her color scheme as "punch colors," which meant there were lots of bright, fun colors that are perfect for summer weddings - reds, yellows, blues and everything in between. Their theme was rustic - there was plenty of burlap at this wedding!
Amanda's gown came from David's Bridal, and it was so beautiful! Gorgeous lace detailing, a pretty neckline, a little bit of bling around the waist, and a classic silhouette. She also wore boots, which is always our favorite! Amanda, you are such a lovely bride!
This bridal party was super fun! Amanda let her bridesmaids choose their own dresses, and they each picked something bright and casual and paired them with boots. The little ones wore colorful dresses with baby's breath crowns... they were adorable! The guys wore classic black tuxedos.
Amanda chose a rustic chic, garden vibe for her bouquets and floral arrangements. There was lots of baby's breath, roses and wildflowers. It was perfect for a fun, casual, summer wedding! Amanda's bouquet was full of baby's breath, cream colored roses, and yellow and purple wildflowers, and wrapped with lace. The bridesmaids carried simple baby's breath bouquets, and the groomsmen wore baby's breath boutonnieres, while Tyler's consisted of a rose and baby's breath.
Amanda and Tyler's ceremony decor was rustic, country and so very sweet! The aisle was lined with logs topped with jars full of wildflowers and baby's breath. The altar was draped with burlap and had a baby's breath garland at the top. They had a cute little sign in table with a wildflower arrangement in an antique watering can. Rather than a traditional unity candle, they chose to do a fun unity sand ceremony.
After they said their I do's, Amanda and Tyler escaped from the crowd to share a few romantic moments by themselves. Because they had chosen not to do a first look, this was the first time they were able to be alone all day, so of course the photos from their time together are super sweet!
Amanda and Tyler's reception was rustic perfection! Amanda said her favorite details of the day were the reception tables. They included ivory linens, burlap runners, wooden vases, antique watering cans, jars, wildflower and baby's breath flower arrangements, and pretty place settings with red napkins. The most unforgettable detail from this reception: the heirloom quilts that hung behind the head table! Amanda said they were made by family members, and we love that she included them in her big day!
Amanda's cakes were three yellow cakes on wooden tiers. Tyler had two awesome groom's cakes! A golden snitch (these two must love Harry Potter!) and a USS Enterprise from Star Trek. Edible details are always the most fun, in my opinion! ;) They also gave edible favors to their guests... s'mores in cute packages with a note!
Amanda's favorite moment from the reception was when Tyler sang "Wagon Wheel" to her. How sweet! She and Tyler shared their first dance as husband and wife, danced with their parents, cut their cake, tossed their bouquet and garter (on a football, of course!), and had a great time with their guests before making their grand exit through a bunch of sparklers and leaving for a California honeymoon! They went to Disney Land and Catalina Island. That sounds like the perfect trip!
Amanda said her favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was not having to worry about anything. "Everything was amazing!" she said. Amanda and Tyler, we're so happy that you chose The Barn as your wedding venue! We loved your big day, and we hope you have the happiest future together! xoxoxoxoxo
Don't you think the quilts were such a fun, unique detail? What a special way to tie in your family's history to your big day!
