Breakfast at Tiffany's Styled Shoot

"If I could find a real-life place that'd make me feel like Tiffany's, then - then I'd buy some furniture and give the cat a name!" - Holly Golightly

One of the most fun things about being an intern at The Barn is that at the end of the semester, you get to do your own styled shoot! And it counts as your final. Yes, you actually get graded on a styled shoot! It's pretty awesome. We let our interns have complete control of the theme and all the details. Our former intern-turned-planner, Kelsea, graduated last year from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Administration and an emphasis in Event Management. This was her final styled shoot, and we're so obsessed with it that I just had to share it again! We gave her an A plus, for sure! ;)

Typically, our interns decide to do a wedding-related styled shoot, but Kelsea chose to do something a little different, and it turned out better than we could have imagined! She chose a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme, and of course there was tons of Tiffany blue, glamorous details, and Holly Golightly's classic black dress and chic accessories. She styled two stunning tablescapes, and there was even a fancy eye mask (if you're a Breakfast at Tiffany's fan, you know what I'm talking about!).

As always, we couldn't have made this shoot happen without a fabulous team of vendors! Be sure to read on for Kelsea's inspiration behind the shoot!

"My initial research for my photo shoot was based on color schemes and me trying to match movies to it," she said. "Steel Magnolias for example, blush and bashful. But oh goodness, blush is a popular (really, really popular) color, so I wanted to stay clear of that. Then I thought GONE WITH THE WIND! But scratched that idea when I realized that I couldn't find a way to make that style modern and trendy. So I don't know if it was the Tiffany blue or Audrey Hepburn's fabulous portrayal of Holly Golightly that roped me in, but I landed on Breakfast at Tiffany's. Holly Golightly (formerly Lulamae Barnes from good ol' Texas) moved from her farm life to the big city where she lived lavishly and secretly. Basically, she fancied the finer things in life, like Tiffany diamonds. I just wanted the shoot to be elegant and flashy with lots of shiny and sparkly accents and I wanted to do something different from the norm, which is of course weddings!"

"I would like to thank each and everyone person who helped make this possible," Kelsea said. "My coworkers for assuring me that I didn't need to stress and for assisting me in making my photo shoot as perfect as I could have imagined. I am so proud to be a part of such a fabulous team!! #barnluv"

Kelsea, you did such an excellent job, and we are so proud of you! We can't wait to see what your future has in store!

xoxo,
