Since The Barn opened in 2012, we have seen a lot of color palettes. We've seen all the traditional ones (many times!), and some crazy, colorful ones, too. We've done just about all of them, so when a couple comes to us with a totally unique, unexpected color palette, we get really excited! This wedding from earlier this spring was one of those with a gorgeous, creative color palette that was refreshing and absolutely stunning. This wedding was truly a breath of fresh air! It was casual, but classy, and so, sooo very pretty.
Tomas Quiroga captured all the details, and I can't wait to share them with you!
Brandi and Rey were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on May 15, 2016. Their color palette included burgundy, navy and powder blue. "I thought they were so classy together," Brandi said. We agree! This color scheme was elegant, yet casual and perfect for springtime. Loved it!
Brandi's dress was one of my favorites so far this year. It was from Ann Taylor, and it fit the casual, classy vibe of their wedding perfectly. I love the spaghetti straps, lace detailing, and the simple shape. Brandi's bridesmaids wore casual lace burgundy and navy dresses from JCPenney and Charlotte Russe. I love the necklines on these dresses... They paired beautifully together!
Rey looked handsome in a navy suit with a burgundy tie, and his groomsmen wore informal khakis, blue checkered shirts, and blue ties. Once again, they nailed it. This bridal party was flawless!
The highlights of this wedding for me were those STUNNING florals! Rich burgundy and powder blue... Ohhhh, how pretty! These bouquets were seriously lush and seriously unique. You can get a glimpse of all of them in the photo of Brandi with her bridesmaids, but here is a closeup of Brandi's.
Aside from the florals and reception table decor, Brandi's favorite detail of the day was the altar. It was draped with lace and had beautiful, huge powder blue and burgundy floral arrangements. Their aisle was lined with logs topped with more of those delicious, rich colored flowers and candles... Insanely pretty!
Brandi said her favorite memory of the day was seeing Rey's face as she walked down the aisle. "We didn't do a first look and it was the first time I had seen him in about 24 hours," she said. "It was perfect." These two are precious together, and their ceremony was perfectly romantic and sweet!
One detail from their day that really stood out: their guestbook! Or guest bench, rather. ;) I'm all about guestbook alternatives, and I'm a big fan of this one! It's functional, and it's something that they'll continue to use throughout their life together... And they'll be reminded of their wedding day and all the love that surrounded them every time they look at it!
The Barn sure looks pretty in burgundy and blue! Brandi and Rey's reception tables included navy linens, burgundy runners, floral arrangements in clear vases and mercury glass vases, candles, and beautiful place settings accented with more burgundy.
Brandi said her favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was "Everything! It was more beautiful than I could have ever created on my own and the team is amazing," she said.
Two standout details from the reception: the cakes, made by theCakePlace! They had a beautiful naked cake, topped with berries which were perfect with their burgundy and navy color palette. The groom's cake was a sheriff's uniform shirt, which was a nod to Rey's job in law enforcement.
For favors, they served signature cocktails in custom cups that said "Brandi and Rey's Big Day." Cute!
When the night was over, Brandi and Rey left for a fun, adventurous honeymoon! "We actually left The Barn at around 10 p.m. and drove straight to Dallas to catch a flight to Los Angeles at 5:30 that very next morning!" Brandi said. "We stayed in Venice Beach in an oceanfront condo and had so much fun!"
Brandi and Rey, thank you so much for choosing The Barn as your wedding venue! We loved your unique, gorgeous, romantic wedding! We wish you the very best! xoxoxoxoxoxo
