Sometimes it rains on your wedding day, and that's okay! When it rains at The Barn, we typically move the ceremony indoors, and weddings inside The Barn are JUST as gorgeous as our outdoor weddings. They are always incredibly romantic, intimate and gorgeous! Abby and Jonathan got married on a rainy day this spring, and although the weather wasn't quite perfect on their big day, they still had a PERFECT, super fun wedding. Taletha Moore from Tootsie Toes Photography took their photos, and they are so pretty!
Abby and Jonathan were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on April 22, 2017. Their color palette was a pretty, spring-appropriate combination of coral, blush, peach and aqua. "They managed to bring together my eclectic Pinterest account to put together my place settings and I LOVED it," Abby said. Their theme was rustic chic, and Abby wanted to include lots of pretty, rustic details, like mason jars, candles, burlap and vintage Coca-Cola boxes.
Abby's bouquets and florals were traditional and timeless, but with a few rustic touches. "My cascading bouquet was a mixture of calla lilies, roses, greenery and burlap," she said. "I had trouble telling the girls how I wanted my bouquet and they still got it perfect! The bridesmaids' bouquets were babies breath, peachy pink roses, and blue hydrangeas." The bridal bouquet also had an extra special touch: "My aunt gifted me a bangle for my bouquet with a photo of Jonathan and I," Abby said. These bouquets were so pretty and spring-y! :)
Abby's timeless, stunning bridal gown was from Danielle's Bridal. We're forever crushing on classic, A-line, strapless dresses with lace details. No matter how many times this style has been worn, it's never not pretty! Abby, you were such a lovely bride!
Abby chose to let her bridesmaids pick their own dresses... We are still loving the mismatched bridesmaids' dresses trend! Each of these dresses are so pretty! Abby said they came from "Everywhere! Rendezvous, Dillard's... We had a mishap with one of the bridesmaid's dresses and had to find one last minute!" Also loving the groom and groomsmen's khaki suits... They are perfect for a warm weather, more casual wedding!
Abby and Jonathan wanted to spend a few private moments together before their ceremony, but they also didn't want to break the tradition of the groom not seeing his bride until she walks down the aisle. So they did the best thing ever... Jonathan was blindfolded as they shared a hug and a few sweet words before the day got too crazy. Isn't this fun and ADORABLE?!
As I mentioned, it rained on Abby and Jonathan's wedding day, and the ceremony was moved inside The Barn. Abby said even though she didn't get the outdoor altar she wanted, everything still turned out beautifully. Their altar included burlap and lace drapes, a whiskey barrel topped with florals and their unity sand, lanterns with lit candles, and a wooden sign that read "I have found the one whom my soul loves." They also had a custom canvas guestbook.
One of Abby's unforgettable moments of the day happened during their sweet, intimate ceremony: "My son Joshua (ring bearer) was so careful with the ring box," she said. "He delicately brought it closer when I came time to exchange (the rings had already been removed, unbeknownst to him). He proudly opened the box only to exclaim, 'Where'd they go!'"
These two are SO happy to be married! Totally loving these sweet wedding portraits.
Rustic chic receptions just don't get much prettier than this one! Abby and Jonathan's tables included white tablecloths, burlap and ivory runners, and simple place settings with coral napkins. They had flowers in jars, vases and vintage crates, as well as candles and lanterns.
Abby's favorite thing about getting married at The Barn: "They do almost all of it for you! I stressed over dresses and hair so I can't imagine what a mess I'd have been without them!" Haha, girl, we understand! ;)
Some other fun details from their reception included a simple white cake with burlap trim and the sweetest wooden topper, a signature cocktail (the Mendoza Mixer!), and two favors for their guests: personalized drink koozies and wildflower seed pods.
"My other favorite moment of the day was when Joshua and my 2yr old daughter started dancing along with Jonathan and I during our first dance," Abby said. "Melted my heart!"
After their wedding day, Abby and Jonathan went on their honeymoon to Hot Springs, Arkansas! "Massages, facials and long naps with a lake view were just what we needed," Abby said.
Abby and Jonathan, you guys are the SWEETEST and we're so thankful that you chose to get married at The Barn! Your wedding was perfect, and we wish you two the very best! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
