The stunning, unique wedding I get to share today was our very first wedding of the year, and it's also the only wedding from our spring season that I haven't yet blogged! Autumn is going to be FULL of amazing weddings, and I can't wait to share those with you as well! This wedding was certainly one of the most unique we've done, and it was the epitome of a fairy tale wedding. Manda Standridge from Photos by Manda beautifully photographed this wedding, and I'm so excited for y'all to see all the romantic, glamorous details! We call this our Tale As Old As Time wedding, and you are about to understand why... ;)
Mary Ann and Alexander were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on April 29, 2017. We love the story and inspiration behind their red and gold color palette and their romantic Tale as Old As Time theme. Mary Ann chose the colors based on her husband's favorite super hero, Iron Man (what an awesome bride!) and then their theme quickly fell into place.
"I knew I wanted all the roses they could find, but once we told the team that he proposed to me with a Beauty and the Beast glass encased rose, that theme seemed to take shape," Mary Ann said. "They took our chosen colors and turned it into a beautiful, romantic, fairy tale wedding! It was stunning!"
A fairy tale wedding needs a fairy tale bridal gown, and Mary Ann found the perfect one at Low's Bridal! It was classic and elegant, and it had the prettiest details - including gorgeous beading and an open back. The dress perfectly fit with their romantic, glamorous theme, and her accessories, which all had pops of red, were the perfect touch.
Mary Ann chose to go totally RED with her bouquets, and they were so elegant and stunning! "Oh, don't get me started on the bouquets!" she said. "There were large red roses and baby roses and buds. There were other beautiful flowers of deep red and magenta. To accent, they added small white flowers with greenery that complimented the roses so well! The bridal bouquet had a gold handle and the bridesmaids' were wrapped in gold ribbon that added that final touch of elegance. The bouquets were so incredible that I wish mine could have stayed alive forever!"
This fun bridal party looked fabulous in red, black and gold. The bridesmaids' dresses (which came from Dillard's) were the epitome of elegance. The guys wore classic black suits, and Alexander wore a gold vest and tie while the groomsmen wore red.
Mary Ann and Alexander had the most romantic first look before their ceremony. I LOVE how romantic, glamorous and elegant these photos are - they perfectly capture the whole vibe of their wedding day!
Mary Ann and Alexander said their I Do's inside The Barn, in an intimate, romantic, gorgeous ceremony. Their altar included gold sequined and red fabric, greenery with red flowers, and a barrel topped with more florals, gold vases, and their really awesome unity ceremony. My favorite detail may be the red rose petals lining the aisle - they made such a glamorous statement!
"We did a glass unity ceremony which uses colored glass instead of sand that we got from the company Unity in Glass and after the ceremony, we sent the mixed glass back and they turned it into a beautiful glass sculpture for us!"
Their reception was fabulous - it was full of rich, red details and gold, glittery accents. Their tables included white linens, gold, glittery runners, gold and white place settings with red napkins, and gold vases filled with red flowers. The glass encased rose and the gold candelabras really gave this reception a Beauty and the Beast Be Our Guest feel! :)
"My favorite part was the decor!" Mary Ann said. "The gold detail with the red flowers was a perfect representation of what I wanted. I wanted it classic, romantic, and elegant. They brought that to life for me!"
We LOVED their white and red cake - the roses and gold trim perfectly fit their theme. And we also loved their sweet cake topper, which paid a tribute to their two doggies as well!
The newlyweds had a super fun time celebrating the beginning of their marriage with their loved ones. "I will always remember dancing with our family and friends!" Mary Ann said. "Our DJ was phenomenal and it was hard to leave the dance floor!"
After their wedding day, Mary Ann and Alexander left for a Jamaican honeymoon! "We are active people so we were able to hike waterfalls, zip line and sail, but we also had days where we didn't stray far from the beach outside our room!" she said. "Our last night included a beautiful candle lit dinner that was a perfect conclusion to a week of bliss!"
Mary Ann and Alexander, we LOVED your gorgeous wedding and your fun, romantic theme! We're so glad we got to plan your big day with you, and we wish y'all a lifetime full of happiness! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
