Barn Elopements Three Ways

Elopements at The Barn have gotten sorta HUGE. In fact, I am emailed about our elopement collections more than anything else! Barn Elopements are romantic, inexpensive (they start at $1,850... say what?!), and super easy. As with all of our other collections, the only thing our elopement brides and grooms have to do: show up and have a great time! Our elopements are perhaps even less stressful than our other wedding collections (which are already the least stressful weddings EVER), because our team does literally all the planning, coordinating, decorating, etc. If you haven't read about our elopements before, this is a quick rundown of how they work: you tell us the colors and overall theme you like, and our incredibly creative team just runs with it. Our elopements are always some of our prettiest weddings, because our team gets to go all out with the details, and it's always such a wonderful surprise for our couples!

I've written about our elopement collections many times... if you need more info, check out these posts: our Classic Elopement Collection, our new Sip-Sip Celebrate Collection. and 10 reasons to elope at The Barn. We also have an Elopements section on the blog, where you can see all the gorgeous details from every elopement we’ve blogged so far! Just click “Elopements” over there on the sidebar!

Here are three of our favorite, most talked about elopements... they’re all a few years old, so if you’ve recently started following us, you may have missed them the first time around! They all vary in style, colors, themes, etc. And they are ALL amazing!

Intimate, Simple Fall Elopement

blog1.jpg

Ali and Lee's intimate fall elopement was perhaps the most simple one we've ever done, but it was just as beautiful as every other one we've done! These two have such a sweet love story, and they wanted a wedding that was as laidback as they are. The love they have for each other was definitely the most beautiful detail of their wedding day. They had a beautiful, rustic altar, the prettiest pink florals, the sweetest cake of all time, and a beautiful fall setting. My absolute favorite details were Ali's dress and accessories. Sometimes simple weddings are the sweetest and most beautiful of all!

Colorful Rustic-Cowboy-Gypsy-Chic Elopement

If you've been reading The Barn Blog for very long, you've undoubtedly seen this elopement a time or two... I can't stop talking about it! Morgan and Wager's elopement was super detailed, and it was one that we will never forget. Morgan loves all things bright, rustic, cowboy and gypsy inspired, so our team took all of those things and made THIS gorgeous masterpiece elopement. We're never, EVER gonna be over that altar (rusty tin, pallets, steer heads, hanging florals and lights, a cowhide, etc.) orrrr that macaron-topped cake. This elopement was right up our alley! It was a little bit rustic, a little bit cowboy, a little bit gypsy, and a LOT fabulous.

Colorful, Whimsical Balloon Elopement

Sujey and Jeffrey were married over two years ago, and I still can't get over their sweet, creative, adorable Up-inspired elopement. It's been on this blog a lot, and I'm sure I'll continue to bring it up, because I'm obsessed. (Sorry, not sorry!) When this precious couple told us they wanted an Up theme and a bright, bold color palette, our team went to town blowing up balloons and making the most epic altar ever. Other highlights from this elopement: colorful florals, adorable tiny naked cakes, and a balloon arch behind their cake table.

Holly + Alfred’s Pastel Spring Elopement

I’ve been looking forward to this day for a while! It’s the day that I finally get to begin showing off our spring 2019 weddings! So far we’ve had five weddings this spring, and we have several to go, plus an amazing event coming up this weekend. I’m so excited that the first one I get to share with y’all is this magical elopement. It was so romantic and pretty, in part because it took place on the most gorgeous spring day, when the dogwoods were in full bloom and looked absolutely stunning. It included the prettiest spring color palette, the dreamiest altar set up right underneath a dogwood tree, and so many other pretty details. Crystal Malloy is one of our absolute favorite photographers, and we couldn’t stop swooning when she sent these photos over!

Holly and Alfred were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on April 12, 2019. This bride drew some inspiration for her color palette from none other than Steel Magnolias! “Pink is one of my favorite colors so I enjoyed talking about my ‘two colors of blush and bashful’ in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Of course I said this in my best southern accent! Seriously, I wanted the colors of spring, so blush, lavender, muted blue and gray worked well together! My shoes were even a pale blue.” It was the pastel color palette of our dreams!

Holly’s pastel florals were hands down some of our favorite details from this wedding. They were the ultimate spring florals! They were full of soft purples, pinks and blues, and they included hydrangeas, roses and dusty miller.

Holly also included a super sweet detail in her bridal bouquet. “Because I didn’t have anything of either of my grandmother’s, one of my girlfriends loaned me her grandmother’s antique rose pin and I had it attached to the ribbon wrapping the bouquet for my something old,” she said.

We loved the gorgeous simplicity of the guys’ lavender bouts!

Holly’s bridal gown was from the Claire Pettibone Couture Romantique collection, and it was jaw-dropping. The silhouette and neckline were timeless, and the delicate beading and lace were so beautiful. Holly, you were the most gorgeous, classic bride!

The bridesmaids wore the prettiest pastel dresses from David’s Bridal and Birdy Grey. They were romantic and feminine, and they fit so well with the colors and romantic, spring-inspired theme of this wedding.

Thanks to Lesleigh we had no stress and no worries over any detail. She was readily available by text, email or phone anytime I had a question. That made the day and anticipation leading up to the wedding so much more enjoyable than if we had been doing everything ourselves.

Holly and Alfred’s ceremony was one of our dreamiest ceremonies ever, all thanks to the dogwood trees that make The Barn pure magic in the spring. We tucked their altar right into a dogwood that was in full bloom, and it was so, so lovely. We added a little bit of purple draping, our signature chandelier, and some of those gorgeous pale pink, purple and blue florals. Holly said the ceremony set-up was one thing she’d never forget about her wedding day. “One day I’ll tell the story of how Alfred and I were married beneath a blooming dogwood tree on one of the prettiest days April has ever had,” she said.

“The ceremony and day was perfect,” Holly said. She said her absolute favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was “the quaintness of the Barn, the little details brought from a Pinterest idea board to life by Lesleigh.”

Holly and Alfred’s cake display was springy and sweet. We topped an antique desk with lots of pastel florals (the arrangements in the drawers were my favorites!), some purple fabric, and an adorable cake. We always love this simple style of cake, and it was topped with one of Holly’s favorite details of the day. “I made the peg people cake topper to look just like me and Alfred,” she said. “I’ll treasure it forever.”

The newlyweds spent a week in Isla Mujeres following their elopement, and they’re planning to have a big barbecue with their extended family and friends at their home in the near future.

Holly and Alfred, thank you so much for allowing us to plan your beautiful elopement! We loved every bit of it. Best wishes! xoxo

10 Reasons to Elope at The Barn

One of the most popular topics readers of The Barn Blog ask me about is our elopement collection. I think a lot of our couples and readers are torn on whether or not eloping is a good idea, and sometimes even if they truly want to elope, they end up having a "real" wedding and reception instead. Eloping is definitely not for everyone, but there are a few reasons you may want to consider eloping! Many people think elopements are only for pregnant brides or couples that have been in previous marriages. That is so not the case, y'all! Elopements are romantic, intimate, and at The Barn, they are just as stunning and amazing as other weddings! Seriously, our elopements basically always break the internet. Here are 10 reasons why you might want to consider eloping.

1. You want a beautiful wedding, but without having to plan anything yourself. With elopements, we ask our couples to give us an overall color palette and theme that they love, and then we get creative and come up with a unique, beautiful masterpiece! Elopements are even less hands-on for our couples than our weddings... Which is pretty crazy, because even our most over-the-top weddings require very little effort from the bride and groom! If you want to do literally NO work in coming up with decor ideas, an elopement may be for you! You can literally show up in your dress, marry your love, take a bunch of photos, cut the cake and GO!

2. You want gorgeous wedding photos, but without everything that goes along with a big wedding. Some couples just aren't into everything that goes along with a big wedding, but it's also important to them to have stunning photos to look back on for their entire lives. This is where elopements come in! Your photos will be gorgeous, guaranteed (if you choose a professional photographer, that is!).

3. You're super romantic. There is nothing as romantic as running away to get married and then surprising all your family and friends with the big news! Morgan + Wager posted a "just eloped" photo to Facebook after their elopement to share their news... How fun is that!

4. Your family is crazy. Some of us just have totally cray-cray families who may or may not make a wedding a little (or a lot!) stressful, dramatic or awkward. Lord love 'em. Families can make weddings SUPER insane (we've seen it... eek!). If you're pretty sure your family is going to put a damper on your big day, an elopement miiiight be the way to go.

5. You want to get married, like NOW. We can plan elopements super fast. As long as we've got time to get the flowers and cake in, we've got time to plan an unforgettable elopement! We planned one of our most gorgeous (in my opinion) elopements in FOUR days. If you just can't wait any longer to tie the knot, call us up!

6. You want a fairy tale wedding, but you're low on funds. Elopements are less expensive than weddings, obviously, because there are fewer guests and only a cake cutting instead of a full-on reception. It is not realistic for everyone to be able to spend tons of money on their wedding day. The Barn's elopements are proof that you can have an utterly stunning wedding on a budget! (I just want to add that ALL of our all-inclusive wedding collections are lower than national and state wedding cost averages. You can read more about that here.)

7. You don't like having all the attention on you. Elopements are simple and intimate, and that's perfect if one of you is super shy... It can be just the two of you (plus your officiant and photographer), or you can invite up to 25 guests. Way less overwhelming than the amount of guests at a traditional wedding! If the thought of saying your I do's and sharing your first dance in front of loads of people terrified you, consider eloping!

8. Your honeymoon is equally (or more) important to you as your wedding. Weddings are expensive. Honeymoons are expensive. If you want to have an amazing wedding, but you also want to go on the trip of a lifetime, an elopement could be your answer. Our elopement packages are inexpensive, but gorgeous... You're not sacrificing style when you elope! And you're also not spending so much that you can't afford to go on a killer honeymoon. It's a win-win situation!

9. You want to be surrounded by your closest friends and family in an intimate, low key setting. If your mom is pressuring you into inviting 80 people you don't even know, tell her you've decided to elope and are keeping the guest list under 25. She'll be thrilled. ;) Sharing your best day ever with only those closest to you is SO intimate and romantic and meaningful. It's also totally chic and trendy!

10. You want a sweet, meaningful vow renewal with your spouse. You can have an "elopement" at The Barn even if you're already married! Our elopement collection is perfect for vow renewals. That's totally my plan for in a few years, if I can get my sweet husband on board!

There are sooooo many other wonderful, totally legit reasons to elope! Elopements at The Barn  = No stress. Gorgeous wedding. Beautiful florals and other details. Tons of romance. Delicious cake. What could be better?  You can read more about what our elopement collection includes here

Black & Red Gothic Victorian Wedding

“But we loved with a love that was more than love—
    I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
    Coveted her and me.”
- Edgar Allan Poe, “Annabel Lee”

Every once in a while, a couple asks us to do something crazy and outside of our comfort zone, and in all honesty, we LOVE it. We’ve done several weddings that fall into the “one of a kind” category, and this one should definitely be filed as one of The Barn’s craziest weddings ever. And we mean that in very much a GOOD way. How awesome is our team for being able to pull off everything from more traditional weddings to Gothic-Victorian weddings like this one. There’s nothing they can’t do!

Kai from Khaleel Photography was the most perfect photographer we could’ve imagined for a wedding like this one; his photos are moody, a little dark and gorgeous. This one probably won’t fit with most of our readers’ styles, but it’s so uniquely beautiful and we know you will love it! Our team’s creativity really shines through in this wedding’s details… just wait until y’all see the ceremony and reception details and the most insane cake you’ve ever laid eyes on!

This couple eloped at The Barn on November 10, 2018. The bride described their theme as “Gothic Victorian.” Honestly, this wedding gave us major Edgar Allan Poe vibes and we were 100% feeling it. Their color palette was perfect for a wedding with goth details - black, deep reds, rose gold and ivory. The bride said her absolute favorite thing about her wedding day was “the really Gothicy feel.”

There were so many incredible, unique details at this wedding, but the bride’s dress (from Always & Forever) was one of our favorites, hands down. The Barn’s first black bridal gown EVER, and we’re in love with it! She kept the goth vibes going with her nails and accessories, as well. This couple went all out with their theme and they rocked it!

For the couple’s bouquets and florals, our team chose dark red roses and black star calla lilies. “It was so me!” the bride said.

The ceremony details were a little creepy and seriously cool. We did an epic dark red rose petal design down their aisle, and their altar was Gothed out with a black drape, and black and dark red florals. Their aisle was lined with lanterns with black ribbons and hanging dark red flowers. It was uniquely gorgeous, and even though it was not our norm, we were totally into it.

Their reception was equally Gothic, Victorian and elegant. Their tables included black tablecloths, sparkly black sequined runners, black and red florals in mirrored boxes, candles (including some awesome black tapers in black candlesticks), lanterns, and vases filled with branches. Their sweetheart table included hanging bulbs and a little bit of fog action for the perfect creepy touch. It was beautiful, and the bride said the inside of The Barn was one of her favorite parts of her wedding day. Who knew goth could be so darn pretty?!

Remember when I said this wedding had the most insane cake ever?! Here it is in all its glory! Kneading Hands Bakery absolutely blew us away with this gorgeous, super detailed Victorian style cake. Check out that level of detail! Our team created a custom red “til death do us part” skull topper and added dripping black calla lilies and red roses. The black candles and sparkly black runner on their cake table were the icing on the cake!

Kai took such gorgeous pictures around The Barn, and since this bride said The Barn itself was her favorite detail of the day, let us just brag for a minute about how pretty this place is. ;) Check out the creepy vibes in that first photo!

This wedding is officially one of our most unforgettable weddings of all time. We will never forget this one, and we wish this couple the very best! xoxo

Bailey + Mason's Navy, Blush & Burgundy Fall Wedding

This intimate October wedding was just the prettiest, sweetest wedding ever. A super sweet couple, a beautiful fall color palette, the most elegant details, and some seriously gorgeous florals… we loved every second of this one. We’re absolutely swooning over these dreamy photos by Hannah Motes, who is the sister-in-law of the bride, and we know y’all are going to adore this one!

Bailey and Mason were married at The Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch on October 26, 2018. Their navy, blush and burgundy color palette was stunning, and it was absolutely perfect for a fall wedding. Their details were elegant and luxurious. Every piece of this wedding was pure beauty! “Honestly I give Pinterest all the credit,” Bailey said. “But I knew I wanted a fall wedding and wanted the colors to match.”

Wedding videography is always a good idea, and we encourage our couples to work it into their budget if they’re able to! It’s truly the best way to remember every moment from your wedding day that you don’t want to forget - all the emotions, all the details, all the people who made your day so special. A video really captures the vibes from your wedding day, and we can’t recommend them enough. We LOVE Bailey and Mason’s sweet, romantic video from Blue Box Videography.

Bailey’s florals were luxurious and beautiful, with white roses, deep red dahlias, a little bit of blush astilbe and greenery. They were simple yet gorgeous. The white ribbon tied around her bouquet was the perfect touch. “I asked for something simple and not too big and that’s exactly what I got,” she said.

IMG_2911.jpg

Bailey found her dream dress at David’s Bridal, and it was perfection. It had a gorgeous neckline, the prettiest lace, and a lovely silhouette. It was timeless and classic, but the plunging back kept it totally modern. You were the most gorgeous bride, Bailey!

This sweet bride said her absolute favorite moment of the day was her first look with her soon-to-be husband. “The beautiful background and the privacy of it was so special,” she said. “I still tear up when I think about it.”

[Our wedding] was EVERYTHING I had hoped for. I had been engaged for a year and a half before I called The Barn. I was overwhelmed with planning and finally decided to call and ask for help. Lesleigh took over and made it exactly what I wanted. The day of went so smoothly and I loved how laid back and calm it was. I never once felt pressured or overwhelmed. I was able to truly enjoy my wedding day. Having my wedding at The Barn was the best decision I could have made.

Some of my favorite details from this wedding were the bridal party’s attire. The guys’ navy suits and burgundy ties paired with the girls’ blush and burgundy dresses... it was just so beautiful. Bailey allowed her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses, and it could not have turned out any prettier! “I gave them a color and let them decide,” she said. “I love the way it turned out with all the different shades of blush.”

IMG_2991.jpg

Bailey and Mason’s ceremony was intimate and dreamy. Their altar was so romantic, with burgundy drapes and lush florals. Their aisle was lined with wire sconces filled with burgundy and white flowers, and they had a simple, adorable guestbook table with a small floral arrangement and a spot for guests to drop their written well wishes for the couple.

Baileys favorite thing about getting married at The Barn was “how intimate it was,” she said. “I can’t pick a favorite detail because it was all the little details put in together that really made it feel special. I felt like everything flowed and tied my vision together perfectly.”

IMG_2285.jpg
I’m in a really busy part of my life right now trying to finish my last semester of college and am so indecisive. I made a Pinterest page and kind of told Lesleigh she had free creative range of my wedding to do what she thought looked best. She combined everything from that Pinterest board and turned it into something so much better! She is honestly the sweetest person and I’m so thankful for her!

How precious is this family?!

Bailey and Mason had a cake cutting inside The Barn, and it was romantic and so dreamy under The Barn’s gorgeous lighting and draping. How magical does this look?! They had the cutest little cake ever. I never get tired of this style of cake… super simple with a few beautiful flowers. Perfect!

Bailey and Mason, thank you so much for letting us plan your wedding with you! It was absolutely perfect, and we loved every bit of it. Best wishes and congratulations! xoxo
