Wedding Inspiration: Book Themed Weddings

Every storybook romance needs… a wedding with book themed details?! We say yes! There are few things we love more than when a couple’s wedding details tell a part of their story… And it’s even better when those details are gorgeous and work flawlessly into their wedding decor! For our bookworm brides and grooms, using old books throughout your decor is the perfect way to give a nod to your love of reading (or to your fairy tale, storybook love story, of course). They add a vintage, romantic vibe and there are few things prettier than a stack of old books topped with flowers or greenery. Your options for incorporating books into your wedding decor are just about limitless… you can use stacks of books, book pages, or open books throughout your altar, reception tables, guestbook table, backdrops and pretty much anywhere else! We also love book-inspired favors, like cute personalized bookmarks. Here are our very favorite ways to use books in your wedding!

Wedding Inspiration: Fall Florals

Our fall season is officially underway, and I can't wait to begin sharing our magical fall weddings with you! Before I get to start sharing our fall 2018 weddings with you, let’s take a look back at some of my favorite fall florals

Fall florals are kind of the best. They're full of the most delicious, rich colors (marsala and burnt orange and bright yellow and navy and purple and gold!). Rich colors sure look pretty paired with pastels, like blush, so if pale colors are a must-have for you, don't be afraid of mixing them in! The best fall bouquets also have lots of gorgeous texture. Scabiosa pods, fall leaves, curly willow, eucalyptus, thistle, wheat... All those look great with fall flowers! You can also add a bit of texture in the form of a great bouquet wrap (think vintage lace, twine, chambray or burlap). Fall bouquets look great when they're rustic and a little messy and undone looking. Here are some gorgeous fall florals from past Barn Weddings! I cannot even wait to share with you what our team creates for the fall 2018 season! <3

Wedding Inspiration: Altar Love

Your altar is a pretty darn important detail of your wedding, so you might as well go all out making it stunning! After all, there are going to be tons of photos of you standing in front of it, so it's gotta be pretty. ;) At The Barn, we take our altars seriously! We put a lot of effort into making each one as unique and special as the couple who says their I do's in front of it. Looking back through our weddings, I think it's safe to say that we've done every style of altar, from classic to whimsical to glam to rustic and everything in between! Here are some ideas I love for altars that are bohemian, rustic, romantic and glamorous, all from weddings at The Barn. Can't wait to see what our fall 2018 brides dream up for their altars! <3

Showing Team Spirit In Your Wedding Decor

It's almost time for back to school, and those of us living in the South know what else that means... it's also almost time for a little thing called football season. If you don't live in the South, let me briefly explain just how big of a deal that is: football is sort of a religion, and it's taken very seriously. God first, family second, football third. Priorities, y'all! If you're a football fan, you don't get married on a game day, especially if it's a home game. You pick a wedding date that falls during a bye week, or you plan your wedding for a different season.

For diehard football fans, incorporating your love of your team into your wedding decor is a must. But it's easy to go from tasteful to tacky really quick, if you use too many football team-related details. You don't want a full on Razorback-themed wedding, obviously! Here are some ways to show your team spirit that aren't at all tacky!

Use Your Team's Colors In Your Decor...

...Or In Your Flowers

Groom's Cakes

Shaker/Wand Getaway!

Ring Bearer Football or Pillow

Garter Toss

Cufflinks

If nothing else, you could always just call the Hogs after your ceremony ;)

Have a great day, and woo pig sooie! ;)

Wedding Inspiration: Cocktail Hour

With the recent announcement of our brand new Sip-Sip Celebrate Elopement Collection, we wanted to share some inspiration with you for drinks that are as pretty as they are tasty! A quick word of advice for our future Barn Couples: if you want your guests to have a good time and not leave immediately after dinner, your reception must include a bar. And if you're gonna have a bar, you might as well do it up right. I'm talking signature cocktails, adorable drink stirrers, and fancy signage and decor!

Even if you're not a fan of serving alcohol at your wedding, you can still serve adorable mocktails at your bar! They're such a fun detail that you and your guests are sure to remember.

We've already talked all about pretty bars (and a few ways to serve your drinks) here, and I wrote all about bar tips and etiquette here. And here are some gorgeous ways to serve up your signature cocktails!
